  2. Living in Derbyshire, we are well catered for shooting grounds, but gunshops seem a little sparse. wondered what other gunshops in the travelling distance of chesterfield would you recomend? cheers Mike
  3. bought my B525 with a kick eez pad fitted = lives up to the name for me. Mike
  4. What's everybody opinion on an oiled stock? The last shotgun had an oiled stock but the latest has a varnish finish, is it worth having it redone? I admit the oiled stock looked better, but this is a one year old Browning B525 sporter, having it done will it affect the value? What are the advantages of an oiled stock over varnish? Cheers MM
  5. I've seen at some shoots earplugs that appear to be the sonic II type earplug but are in plastic moulds that fit the shooters ears. Can anyone tell me what they are? Cheers
  6. living in north derbyshire, is ideal for clay shooting, several grounds within 30 mins. A wide range of clubs from ones that have hosted the english open to local shoots based in beautiful scenery. plus a former olympic coach and other national shots - won't get me leaving derbyshire Mike
  7. being left handed and right eyed has given me the same problem in reverse. first tried closing the right eye as the gun came up -worked but couldn't always rememebr to do this on certain crossers. finally had a blurred spot ground into the right lens of an old pair of glasses - done by an optician so its directly over the pupil. Now as the gun comes up the brain is made to use the left eye as the right eye doesn't have a clear picture. result - scores doubled in a matter of weeks didn't try the various sight devices as I felt this would make me look at the end of the barrel Some shooters have used a spot of sellotape instead of grinding the lens till the right spot is found - it needs to be where your pupil will be when the gun is up. cheers Mike
  8. I've seen some shooters blow through their barrels after shooting clays and before putting in the next cartridge. strange thing is noone seems to know why? Anyone here know the answer?
