If you apply for PIP there's even a number for "calling from abroad" so presumably you can fiddle the system without leaving the comfort of your own country.
...slightly off topic but a couple of years ago there was a story about an Australian Government telephone enquiry line where the message was " To discuss your enquiry in English, press button 1. If you don't speak English, push button 2".
When button 2 was pushed the message was "This is Australia. We speak English. Comeback when you can too. Goodbye".
The UK needs some of that?

If he retaliated in self-defence, he would have more than likely found himself arrested as the abuser.
That (sadly) applies not only to this example.

Any difference here between this and Lord Cameron slinking back into Government? It is just jobs for the boys - it doesn't matter who you vote for, the Government always get in?

In my experience using modified cases, you don't need a case that has been fired from your own rifle, but obviously making your own is going to be cheaper. I did this by drilling out the primer hole, making it bigger, then opening up the neck of the case so that a bullet slides in with ease, but not too slack. All I did then was to use a barbeque skewer to allow the bullet to be pushed part way out of the case. It worked well, although I do also have the 'proper' one.
..but if you drill out the primer hole & tap to match the Hornady Lok n Load comparitor, you don't need the BBQ skewer and the projectile ain't ever slack?

Has anyone got the above for sale the don't require anymore.
Thanks
It is best (and cheaper) to drill & tap a fired case from you own rifle. That way it is a better fit.

i used to quite a bit, especially for the golf as it's on a golf course (which is free on that particular course) and i've let friends/family use it but to be fair i'm toying with the idea of off loading it at present.
In 2018 we "offloaded" our place in Florida after 11 years and the "friends/family" said "Jeez, what we gonna do for a holiday now". Not once did any of them suggest any contribution to the £2 / 2.5k per month running costs.
We loved the place and used it a lot. Great times in fabulous weather - but it becomes a very expensive habit.

We'd like to downsize - just the two of us (no kids, no one to choose our old people's home), aged mid 60s, nice 4 bed detached house nice area - we'd like a two bed bungalow with a double garage, we have been looking for years....like rocking horse droppings for rarity.
If you can't find what you would like - build it? It is what we have just done and we're both now over 70.
It took us years to find a suitable plot and we're now in year 6 of a 2 year plan (blame Covid & extra Planning applications as we kept changing our minds) plus the original budget was truly busted - but we have enjoyed the journey and would definitely do it again.

thanks eyefor I'll take a look I am after .177 pellet samples.
OK
I'll have a rummage in the man cave.

There are sellers of pellet sample packs on the bay of E.
Search seller MacoCorp & make your own selection.
What calibre are you looking for? I might have a few.
-
To remove black mould on silicone, use HG Mould spray. Brilliant stuff.
Loads of other sellers.

In the 2nd half of this video Simom6PPC seems to get on well with the Zans in .177 sub 12. I'm happy with my existing pellets but I've ordered a couple of trial packs of the Zans just to see if they work.
I'll update after trying them.

If I were to buy the smoothest springer / gas ram sub 12 what would it be? Is there a recoiless hunting rifle (not pcn)?
In addition to having a recently serviced and professionally fettled trigger Theoben Fenman gas ram in .22, I have two Daystate MkIV IS PCP's - one sub 12 ft lb .177 and a .22 FAC with both PCP's having the electronic trigger.
After lengthy pellet testing with both PCP's, at 35 yards indoors they produce pellet, on pellet, on pellet ad infinitum 1/4" groups. If you want I can bore you with pictures of groups - but in terms of accuracy with factory ammo they are the most accurate guns I own. I do have FAC centre fire rifles that will also one-hole at various ranges but that is with developed home loads and a different discussion.
The Fenman is good, but not as good as the PCP's because, despite the fettled two stage trigger it will never be as smooth as the electronic PCP's and there is some recoil with best groups at 35 yards being about 1/2" to 3/4" - but in 10 shots I always seem to get a flier. That could probably be down to the idiot pulling the trigger but I'm not noticing anything different when I do get a flier.
All that said, for seated 25 - 30 yard shots at tree rats on a feeder or for a slow walk through a wood, I will always take the much lighter 16" barrel Fenman cos it is a much more pleasant carry and is still a special memory from my (very distant) yooof and a BSA springer.
Just buy one and enjoy it?

Update on the above.
First of all a big THANK YOU to Team Tractor for the offer of assistance with the wooden block and, secondly, an ever bigger THANK YOU to TT's Dad for turning the wooden block into the beautiful bowl as pics attached.
The consensus is that whilst the wood was "as hard as steel" and regularly blunted the turning tools, it is probably not Lignum Vitae, but Iroko. The crack in the block did continue through to the core but, to me, that just adds character and does not detract from the bowls purpose.
I am humbled by the skills. I am very grateful and I hope TT's Dad enjoys the well deserved beer or three.

I ship several hundred containers a year of commodities from & to various destinations. Used to be many thousands, but I'm semi retired.
As an example, Taiwan to London through Red Sea is 11400 Nautical miles. Taiwan to London via Cape / Durban is 12200. Container vessel 20knots/ hour = 40 hours more. Transit & queueing time Suez 2 days. Longer route is faster. Shipping lines all BS to raise rates (again).
PS. Yorksire tea is dire.
