  1. COME ON ANONYMOUS FRIEND HAVE YOUR SAY!

IM SURE YOU CAN PUT YOUR SIDE WHILE KEEPING IT CORDIAL

MAYBE YOU HAVE YOUR REASONS OR WANT TO BUILD BRIDGES OR MAYBE THE OP IS AN EVIL VINDICTIVE CHARACTER ASSASSIN ,, OR MAYBE YOU ARE ONE AND THE SAME WITH A SERIOUS DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER .....LOL

  2. Thanks for the contact, got my CZ back this morning cut to 14",headed down to my perm and fitted the scope on site.Took 5 shots to get it on the spot, grouped the next full mag 1" group @ 50mtrs,chuffed to bits is an understatement.Dropped him a text to say a massive thanks.

& look it stand up in the cab now lol.

No problem mate your setup looks great in the truck!

  3. Hi a couple of questions,

Does anyone have any experience of barrel life/ throat erosion on ruger .204's I'm reading anything from 1200-3000 rounds?

I'm considering a used gun, I'm a competent engineer & used to working with fine tolerances but just don't have a lot of practical rifle experience having always bought new, can anyone give me advice or pointers on what to look out for? this would be much appreciated.

The used gun idea is so I can put a stock on it, do the trigger & generally use the rifle to get some experience tinkering with them other than the bolt polishing & trigger jobs i've done on my CZ's.

    Anyway thoughts & input appreciated.

    thanks Kennym

  4. Thanks Stevo, I do have a spare box or two of Winnies to run through before I have to open the brick, if it's not getting on well with them I'm sure my local dealer will let me swap them out for an alternative, I tried RWS a while back and thought they did ok with my last rifle and I know she has some of those in stock. I thought long and hard about the fluted barrel because it looks really nice but ultimately it came down to ease of using from a vehicle etc. Those extra 4" count.

yeah 4 inches longer & you could use it as a balancing stick to help you over those fences :whistling:

  5. :good: Did you have to say yours is bigger

and i know how to use it!!

dont be like me & have to buy & sell multiple cabs before you get the right one, I never thought i'd end up with all the kit i have so always go a bit bigger, it sets you up for the future,..... mines full...... damn it!!!,.... ive got it wrong again lol.

  6. That's the spirit but as I'm in my seventies I'll forgo the fence climbing bit

EMcC you might find it funny but I find it unbelievable, ginger swingers "Mick" won't be climbing any fences, not with his knees, there quite possibly the gnarliest worst sounding knees ever, ... now i'm not the type to put my hand on another man's knee but when he insisted it was gruesome,........ on a lighter & possibly hypocritical note at least I get free travel in Mick's magic car!!!

  7. What's a Flea Market , is that something peculiar to your part of ther country ?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

From your posts I detect a slight form of antagonism.

Have I upset you because I appear to be a bit more carefull with my money than you Yorkshire folk are supposed to be ?

I don't mind saying this on the forum rather than a pm

I meant no offence to you at all just a bit of leg pulling I hope you can take it that way....

See I even resisted to temptation to......... Lol

  8. No, none of us jockey for anywhwere, we ride in style  so you would have lost that bet - so more money wasted :unhappy:

    Anyway, back on track.

I also think the entry fee is too expensive for the average guy and am sure there are other places that could be enjoyed just as much for a lot less cash. :)

yes you could go to a flea market & haggle over price

  9. I have lots of friends that go out quite often because they have more time and money to spread about rather than lose it all in large wads :)

Yes I bet you all form a que at the bar.... Jockeying for last position..

  10. No, but you will be kicking yourself when you find you are just £25 short of that bargain shotgun, rifle, car Insurance and a couple of hundred short after going and spending that much on cold drinks and food.

Budget, budget, budget, is the way to go these days.

I have a friend like that

He doesn't go out much either lol

  11. I find myself looking at the £25-30 to get in for a single day and wondering if I really thought it was that good last year... £25 is way too steep in my honest opinion. Especially when we know how much the traders get charged for a stand etc. it's ridiculous.

Think of the fuel saving.. Oh wait
  12. Excellent idea to swap your semi auto for a bolt, in my opinion its much safer if your shooting at night possibly in a group (I don't know if that's the case) and quieter (sure some may disagree but that's my thoughts)

And it seems you are either a very wise man or you had an epiphany!........ swapping the limited range and temperamental ammo of a HMR for the fantastic .204 is a really good move if you don't shoot it that often that the extra ammo cost will hurt you (I don't know if that's the case)

    You sound a great guy (I don't know if that's the case).....................lol

  13. Many of us will complain about the stringent gun control in this country . Do you know what ? I support the licensing control in this country . At least before you can own a gun here you have to be vetted by the police and be able to show good reason to want to own a gun .

I have spent many a holiday in the states visiting my realatives and shooting and fishing . I was always amazed at how easy it was to obtain guns over there . Walk into Walmart and buy a shot gun or rifle over the counter . No licence or check what so ever . Buying a hand gun was a little bit harder in New York State because you had to wait a week before you could pick up the gun . The police would check you out for any criminal convictions . I prefer our licence system .
