  11. have a ford ranger and i am hoping to get a transit box of some kind,i am looking at the sizes of the transk9 box and the lintran box, but how many dogs would you be able to fit in the larger boxes with a partition in, i have three dogs, two of which a very good sized labradors, i like the look of the lintran db2000 long it looks like it will just fit onto my shelve over the wheel arches in the back of the pick up," storage space underneath "i was wondering on what other people use, some pictures would be nice, cheers scorchy

  14. its such a shame that you can,t get hold of the jimmy lings cartridges, what a great cartridge, took some down to a friends shoot down south a few years ago and some of the lads down there tried some and couldnt believe how good they were, so everytime i went down there i had to take supplies, the poor old car struggled, the only i think are close are the good old gamebore clear pigeon, scorchy
  15. come on whats everyone views i was shocked and but not surprised, this has been going on for along time, what really gets my goat is breeding dog that have no quality of life is seen as alright in the show world,( most of the show people are interested in is ££££££££ ie stud fees and puppys) i have been weighing up option for quite a while now on what dog i am getting next year " i do alot of picking up on shoots" i like the idea of having a lab/spainel cross, they seem to be a lot more robust and less prone to health problems but i would also like to take part in some field trials,i don,t think it would go down well if i turned up with a cross breed and won i have three dog, spainel , a pedigree labrador and a collie/lab cross which are all used for shooting, i have had more health problems with the pedigree lab,£2500.00p later but my 14 year old lad cross is still going strong, and has caused more no problems through out his life, "touch wood" hopefully will be getting another season out him, he just wants to keep going i can,t leave him at home otherwise i will have no kennel and garden left, i would just like to here what everyones opinions is, scorchy

    HELP HELP HELP

afternoon everyone, i was just wondering if any knew of anywhere in east anglia i could purchase some old style army surplus camo nets for hide building, i much prefer the old style a bit heavy but seems to be a bit more robust to some of the new stuff that is on the market, cheer scorchy
  17. hello john john, i know of some springer pups, some are ready now, and some more, i think are ready by the end of the month, they are KC reg and should make good working dogs, they were sired by my dog, which i regulary use for rough shooting and picking up on the local shoots, there are some nicely marked dogs, but they are down in sunny suffolk which is quite a distance for you, i was tempted to have one but i like my labradors to much, drop us a PM if interested, scorchy

  20. i personally don,t like the idea of carting dogs in trailers,a few of friends of mine used to use trailers but after a friend had a nasty accident with his trailer and his dogs they soon changed to pick ups and landrovers, and my mates dad used to have his dogs in a trailer and they kept fallen ill, he took them to the vet,he suggested that the fumes from the car could be the reason, anyway he changed to a isuzu rodeo pick up and the problem has gone away, he is convenced it is connected, i did think about small van and a trailer( cheaper to run) but as you can imagine i was soon put off, scorchy
  21. i have brought myself a nice shiny ford ranger with a back on it for dogs and gear , i was just wondering if anyone has attempted at building there own dog transit box and storage boxes, like the custom ones ( ie LINTRAN and CABS etc)you can buy, but by building my own i hope will be alot cheaper.i need enough room for four dogs, i wouldnt bother with a box but i like take the dogs to work and on a warm day i would like to leave the back all open. i would like to hear some of your ideas and maybe see some of your photos of your master pieces, thanks scorchy
  22. we used to have problems with ******,the farm manager was out on rabbit duty, when he saw the local ****** on the land, so off he went in pursuit of the them, they drove of at speed down the track and manage to get there discovery stuck into a ditch, the boss decide to have a little chat with them and then they went off to get something to pull it out, by the time they had got back the discovery had just been cubed up by the farms 14 tonne 360 tracked digger which was quickly pulled up to the field on the low loader, you should of seen there faces, we never have had a problem with them to this day,
