this is fine as long as the pellet stays within your boundaries, if it strays outside your boundaries you are comitting a serious offence. How sure are you that your pellets will stay within your boundarys? If it is not 100% sure dont take the shot.

hi there ratcatcherreed I would advise you strongly against you using any form of pellet with a plastic skirt, the plastic rubbs off in the barrel and in some cases the only way to remove it is to take it to a gun shop where they will pour a type of acid down the barrel to remove the plastic, very messy :yp: Also I would agree with the others not to use pellet lube

hi there fishandshoot.co.uk. in a round about way you were refering to power . If the friction is reduced it is deduced that the velocity of the pellet increases :yp: . As the weight of the pellet remains the same it is simple maths that the power increases . But here comes the BUT. If the pellet leaves the barrel quicker than the air blast can impart all the energy, the pellet will loose power! Thank you Fisherman Mike for adding the theory of the pellet lubing itself when it melts going through the barrel, i had not thought about that but it definatly is a sound theory!

hi there fishandshoot.co.uk whats this about pellet lube i am hearing? Yes it reduces the friction in the barrel true, but this does not mean more power. The pellet may end up leaving the barrel befor all the energy of the air blast is imparted to the pellet, therefor less power! Surely your physics degree told you this! My physics masters degree did! :yp:

Hi there fisherman mike you stated that you got 404 shots from your rapid mk2. Are all these shots at 12flb? i am only getting around 300 at 12flb befor the power starts to drop off. :yp:

also just to add, what pellets are you using? if you are using MARKSMAN!! then throw them away and use a good quality pellet as bad pellets just will not group!

yes i agree, the basic function should still work, have you considered parallax, basically what i mean is are you addressing the rifle the same way every time, if you look through the scope a different way each time your cross hairs will be in a different position on the target. look through the scope and move your head around, do you see the cross hairs move? This is a major factor in cheaper scopes which is elliminated to some degree in more expensive scopes. This would accout for you group sise being like a cigarette box. Try what neil said about setting the turrets to try to move the group to the correct position. hope this helps a little

the dinamics are very accurate and have had many good shoots from them. They are however not good for hunting as they over penertrate. I have not herd any reports of the rifling being damaged by these pellets, they should have been made to suite air rifle barrels so i should not worry. Also one good thing is that they do not lead up the barrel which stops the problem of rondom flyer!

this scope is an entry level scope so does lack the quality of a better model, I used to buy cheap scopes and encountered similar problems to what you are having. At the end of the day with scopes expecially you get what you pay for. I now have a simmons whitetail classic 3.5x10 50 super night view and it has never let me down. Zeroed it once and never had to change it (except when changing pellet brand). My advice to you is if you are serious about shooting and want accurate results dont buy a scope below about £150. Some people wil disagree but this is based on personal experiance, I have been shooting since i was strong enough to hold a gun, and i am 23 now! Sorry I cant give you any good news but dont be put off, once you get the right kit you are set for life. :yp:

Does sound like a faulty scope. I have had this problem befor and it is not worth trying to fix as it will never hold its zero, get it replaced. What model of simmons is it?

What pellets are you using? and also is your barrel clean? my groups start to go messy when my barrel is leaded, this can also cause the odd flyer that goes astray from the group for no apparent reason. Hope this helps you. :yp:
