  1. 1) I used a company called Private Internet Access (PIA)

    2) Yes it slows down the internet, I am on 56mbps non VPN, when using a vpn app/software it’s down to 20mbps.

Using the routers built in vpn it’s about 10 mbps but the router is cheap and not much processing power, if I had gone for a more expensive Asus one with a higher spec processor I could get over 20mbps on the router and probably more than the app.

    3) The second router is for 2 main reasons, first I am using a fire tv box which you cannot side load a software vpn on to so I need an external hardware solution rather than software. Second anything I don’t want to go through the VPN for speed reasons, (BT sports, sons gaming, etc) or if I don’t want to be geoblocked, if I set the vpn to USA server I cannot watch BBC, if I set the VPN UK server and I cannot watch USA only channels.

So my solution is 2 separate networks, anything going through the Asus router is going through the vpn, anything going through the BT home hub is full speed non vpn. All it requires is for me to choose the wifi network of choice. 10mbps is adequate for the Fire TV box so that is permanently wired to the Asus router, the Asus router is connected to the BT hub via WAN port at the Asus side and the LAN port at the BT hub side.

It’s a neat solution, I was going to invest in a better spec router to increase speed but I don’t get any lag or buffering at 10mbps so haven’t as yet bothered.

Thanks for your detailed reply,I like the idea of the of having a second router :good:

  2. It depends on your ISP how beneficial a VPN is, if you are using one of the big ones like SKY, BT, Talk Talk etc. it can be beneficial but not a requirement, if on a smaller ISP they may not be subject to a court order so a VPN not needed.

Exodus is one of the better apps that doesn’t have so much of a problem with the blocking so you will get to watch most of the stuff no problem on that. The trouble is you will be down on links so popular TV and new films will be ok but some of the older films or obscure TV shows won’t work on BT without a VPN and I believe SKY broadband is even worse.

I just paid £30 for the year for a Private Internet Access VPN and bought a 2nd Asus router for £28 as Asus support VPN client. The 2nd Asus router runs through my main router anything connected to that goes through the VPN anything connected to my main router goes through BT.

I think it was worth doing as kodi is all I watch now and I can use every app to its full potential and no bother about court orders ruining my TV.

My advice is if you find stuff you want to watch keeps coming up with no links then go for a vpn if not then don’t bother.

If you don't mind me asking

    1. what Vpn did you use

    2. does it slow down you internet

    3. whats the reason for the second router

    thanks

  3. About 20- 25 years ago I had snakes, two albino California king snakes breading pair. pink with yellow bands.two rat snakes (corn snakes) breading pair.

Two milk snakes also breading pair and garter snakes. I bread all these snakes and sold them to reptile shops down south. At some times in the breeding season I had over 70 snakes at home. It was fascinating, collecting the eggs incubating then, feeding them.

  4. Thanks for all your feedback, just got my first permission to control rabbits on a golf course, went out on Monday at 4.15am had a walk around the course and got two rabbit's with my air arms s410.I had great pleasure in watching the deer running back and forth kicking there back legs it was great.

  5. Why did you change the plugs, leads and coil pack ?? did it have the same fault before you changed those parts

I'm not sure, in between the spark plug holes is there not screw in core plugs I'm sure I changed or resealed them on a vehicle as coolant was getting to leads an plugs causing a short..

  6. thanks for the feed back guys :good: was talking to a green keeper and he said the crows do serious damage to the green digging for, and keep removing the seed and divots looking for leather jackets

I know you can shoot crow's for damage to crops and livestock,so how does that go with damaging the greens.

  7. This has probably been covered before, is it legal to shoot crows, rabbits and wood pigeons

for doing serious damage to the greens.

or would it have to be done under public health and disease due to crow/pigeon **** on equipment e.t.c

    your input please.

  8. I have used a similar one to this except you used an air line to jack it up and then locked it to the desired height. another mechanic was using it

and the vehicle slipped to one side, luckily he was working on the out side of the vehicle.

no one was hurt an no damage to customers vehicle. It was never use again
