All these rural types moving to the city driving up property prices with the level of demand, outrageous, folk have lived there all there lives cant buy a flat/semi etc.

Many a true word said in jest.....i lived in Canton which is a part of Cardiff for 5 years, and was told by a young local Cantonian that "all you Welshies* are moving here to Canton and buying up these houses us locals can't compete you tend to be better educated than us and can earn more money"

Take what you will from my comments.

    * Welshies in this context are the Welsh speaking Welsh who moved to Cardiff to live and work, and there was a lot of us in the Canton area! ps I live home in West Wales now!

If Commissioner Jean-Claude Juncker had actually listened to Cameron and given him a bit of concession to come back with, the leave/remain vote might well have come out with remain the winner.

I genuinely think that the arrogant attitude ignoring Cameron's concerns from Juncker and President Donald Tusk, coupled with continual 'sniping, griping and bitching' by the likes of Guy Verhofstadt put enough British peoples backs up to significantly affect the outcome.

Here i totally agree with you.

  4. Not really sure what to say about the young people's work situation: From 16 years old until i graduated from Uni i had a summer job, waiting tables, working on building sites, on the bins with the council, or working on the factory floor. So did all of my friends. Competition was quite stiff for summer jobs! ...with one exception, the local care homes were crying out for staff......i did it for one summer it was far far harder work than any of the other jobs i did! The people who do those jobs deserve every penny they get.

  5. Yep far too many fishing rods, and i plan to start sea fishing so a 2nd hand beachcaster is on the way! When my parents bought the house they live in now, back in 1983, they set up a series of clips Zinc-Plated Tool Clips ½" 10 Pack | Tool Clips | Screwfix.com along the wall next to the washing machine, it kept the rods out of harms way. Me...ive got a a few cupboards in the utility room....also holds a shotgun cabinet and a lot of other outdoor kit!

    Cheers

  6. I get where you are coming from marsh man, i don't hammer the sea trout the way i used to. I fish for an hour enjoy the fresh air, if i catch something great if not well.. i'm not bothered....at one time i'd arrive at the river at 9pm, and leave the river at 9am the following morning having fished hard all night covering several pools and runs!!

  7. As a poor student we used to add a tin of home brand supermarket baked beans to Spaghetti Bolognese, bulked up the mince and tasted fine! Have been eating home brand supermarket beans for a while always found them fine.....i do however miss this!

  8. Like others watched GOT during lockdown, enjoyed the series, recently found Book 1 in a charity shop so i will read at some point (got other books to finish first).  Watching House of Dragons, but with a different attitude, i was glad of GOT during lockdown....don't need the TV quite as much now, fishing, and shooting are available!

  9. I think all of us are going to have to make changes as to how we live our lives. Like others I grow my own veg (but i enjoy that anyway!), cut my own logs, and my hobbies do provide me with some healthy meat and fish. I've had a surplus of French Beans this year, left them in a box outside the front gate with a for free sign, fair play they've all gone!
