Hi Guys
I recently took ownership of my fathers shotguns a Berretta S687 Sporting and a Zanoletti which have been in my brothers possesion since he passed away for the last 20 years, unfortuneatley they havent had much use and he isnt the best at maintainance, the Zanoletti has some bad pitting on the barrels and quite a bit of rust. The beretta thankfully has only a couple of minor marks on the barrels but along the sight line (not sure of the technical name the bit with the flat knurled finish) it has some bad rust and pitting.
I am quite confident about refurbishing the stocks on both guns as I have some experience in that area using Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil Gun Stock Refinishing Kit, but I see they also do a blueing kit, would it be adviseable to try and repair, clean and reblue with this kit, is it something for a novice to attempt and has anyone used this product, would like some feedback on the ease of use, finish etc.
Many Thanks
Wayne
