haha yep really pleased, its been alright though as i have had my dad mentoring me so wasn't a problem but good to have some freedom now.

Have had my firearm certificate since september 2011, with all guns having mentor conditions (.243, .17hmr and .22lr). But back in January I sent my certificate back to west mercia to get the mentor conditions removed. Today i recieved my certificate with all the conditions removed with no hasle, so thumbs up to west mercia. This afternoon I went for my first outing with the HMR on my own and managed to bag a rabbit at 60 yards, so all in all a very good day and am very pleased. Here is a picture of the rabbit i shot.

At the time it wasnt directly next to a warren however it was around 30 yards or so from the hedge line where there are loads of warrens.

Went for a shooting session this morning. There wasnt much about except for a few pigeons. The weather was good so decided to stalk down this field as i could see a rabbit in the middle of the patch. As i crept closer the rabbit held its position but there ws something odd about it. As i got to within 20 yards i could tell the rabbit had what i think is Myxomatosis. So i took the shot and the rabbit was cleanly put out of its misery. i hope someone is able to confirm my suspicions of Myxomatosis, it is something i havent really seen in our area so it is a first for me. thanks for reading Adam

My uncle has used a trap but im not sure what kind, is a larsen trap any different? The trap didnt work for him however thats why i thought i should perhaps try to shoot them. Do you have to use some kind of bait do the job? or do you need a caller?

ok thanks for the advidce

hi my uncle owns a farm, he has many different animals including around 200 chickens. He has asked me to shoot the magpies which are constantly taking eggs and have now become quite a problem. So i was just wondering which is the best way to go about dispatching them? I have both a shotgun and an air arms s400 .177. Should I use a hide? Do I need to try and attract them in with something? I know you have to be very patient as they are very inteeligent so i was just looking for some advice. Many thanks adam.
