  1. Hi guys, I have recently picked up a mint synthetic AL391 from a dealer , it came boxed with all accessories and also has a warranty. I am very happy with the gun but have found one issue with it. Occasionally when firing heavy loads for geese in the Orkneys recently ( specifically 50 gram gamebore mammoth shells) the magazine cut off button on the left side of the receiver is activated with out being pressed, and on examination the button is pushed in. The gun functioned perfectly with RC 40 gram cartridges and all other cartridges tried down to 28 gram. I have googled this problem and the same issue has been mentioned on American forums with some early AL 391's firing heavy loads, though no definitive fix was given except to say that it may be a problem with the ball detent on the switch. This was not due to wear either, and in my case my gun is as new. Incidently the owners manual states that the AL 391 will function with cartridges from 24gram to 57 gram 3 inch magnums. The gunsmith I spoke to at GMK had not encountered this issue before. I wondered if anyone else has experienced similar problems and what the fix was before my gun gets sent off to GMK. Many thanks for any help with this issue.
  2. Hi Guys, probably a bit of a long shot but I am after a gel recoil pad to fit the Benelli M2 comfortech stock, I am after the thickest of the 3 available which is 35 mm thick and right handed. Please contact me via a PM if you have one for sale. many thanks.
  3. That's what I was thinking, it's my friends gun and it wasn't me that cleaned it initially. I have advised removing the barrel from now on for cleaning though. I will strip it and clean it after speaking to GMK just incase it's something simple. I haven't tried other cartridges as it worked flawlessly the first time and then used them again with the resulting problems. Thanks for the replies guys.
  4. Hi Guys A friend has recently purchased a franchi affinity 1 shotgun, this has a synthetic stock and 28 inch barrel. We took it to a clay ground for its initial firing two weeks ago, it functioned very well and cycled every cartridge that was put through it including some 25 gram 2 inch eley game cartridges. My friend ran a bore snake through it to give it a quick clean and put it away, it had fired about 60 cartridges. Today we returned to the range, we used the same 28 gram cartridges as on its first outing., the gun gave us nothing but problems. Generally if one cartridge was dropped in to the chamber and the other was fed into the mag tube, the gun would often fire and eject the first cartridge but fail to pick up and chamber a cartridge from the chamber, the bolt would be closed on an empty chamber. If just a single cartridge was dropped into the chamber, it would fire but the bolt would not lock back showing an empty chamber. I field stripped the gun but could not see anything obvious, it appears that running a bore snake through it on an open chamber without removing the barrel has somehow effected it.... I will be phoning GMK in the morning for some advice but as it stands it looks like the gun might have to be returned to GMK, it was purchased New from a Gunshop in Scotland and brought back to Wales (some 500 miles away), if the Gunshop was local it would be returned there. Any Ideas as to what may be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Hi guys, I am looking for some pigeon shooting (paid) for two people either Friday or Saturday 27th/ 28th of March , preferably within a couple of hours drive of Rochford/ Southend area of Essex . We have our own Guns but would require the use of a hide/rotary etc..... We had a paid day scheduled in Northampton but it turns out the pigeons are very scarce so the day looks to be off. I would very much appreciate if anyone has something viable to offer, ( short notice I know!) Many thanks.
  11. I have taken the ( extremely ) long spring out to clean the mag tube, I have a red anodised metal follower in my M2 . Mine has a crimp on the magazine tube which stops the follower from being removed, this crimp appears to have been put in at the factory to stop the mag capacity being increased with a screw on aftermarket tube.
