  5. Hi the trick of running a bead of weld around the bearing is the sudden warming up of the bearing breaks what ever bond is holding it stuck and when it cools right down the bearing actually is slightly smaller that what is was to start with,i've done this loads of times with bearings on engines etc and it worked with the choke although it ruined the choke, the barrel was undamaged. I don,t why steel gets smaller after a heating but it does, are the any metalurgists on here who could explain this. Cheers Vulture
  6. Hi all, After trying the suggestions you have posted and still no joy i decided to use an old trick i learned from an old guy i used to work with,he would run a bead of weld round a bearing that was well and truly stuck, allow it to cool off and they would pop out easily. it was a bit of a job to get the weld in the choke but it worked ,came with no fuss, ruined the choke but barrel is fine new choke fitted with oil,all done. Thanks Vulture.
  7. Hi can anyone offer advice on how to remove a stuck choke,I have tried a little local heat with a hairdrier and dribbled oil in as best as i can but no joy,any ideas anyone. Cheers Vulture Ps the gun is a 20g Browning gold.
  8. Hi No just want all the guns on boths certs as we are sharing one cabinet. Vulture
  9. Hi my wife has applied and got her SGC and despite telling the FEO that we would be sharing the gun cabinet and guns there is no mention of the guns on her certificate, should they be on there, also when buying a gun the seller fills the relevent part of the cert but who fills in the second cert? never been in this situation with shared guns before so no idea how to sort. Many thanks Vulture.

Hi I,m new to the world of shooting having held my SGC for just a couple of months now and now my wife wants to join in with her own SGC etc, The problem she has is there is no one suitable to countersign her photo and application form , rest of the forms etc is all done apart from this simple thing,She has friends who have known her for more than two years but are not suitable ie not teachers etc. What do we do? Many thanks.

  19. WAHAY Got SGC today, exactly two weeks after FEO visit. Now for some serious spending , Well done Norfolk Constabulary.
  20. Hi Just applied for my first SGC and i have a couple of questions, firstly can i assume that if a FEO visits your home you have passed all of their proceedures ,checks etc and once they have checked your cabinet the cert is posted. roughly after the visit how low does it take them to process and post the cert, I,m in Norfolk by the way. The FEO came a week and a half after i posted my application and its now been a week and a half since then. Also i would like an opinion on a shotgun i,m interested in ,its Miroku MK70, are they OK. Many thanks Mark
