  1. In the middle of buying a new build myself and also interested in this... Are there a restiction on dogs? If so whats the steps to try and have this amended from say 2 dogs to 4???
  2. Cheers bakerboy I was aware of the list but I was hoping to see if anyone had any firsthand experience of any coaches in the area, would prefer a personal recommendation... Although I do know what works for one won’t always work for all...
  3. As per the topic title.. Can anyone recommend a shooting coach within reasonable travelling distance of east central Scotland? Thanks Mark

    wellies

I have also been looking at the chameau wellies for the Mrs and was wondering if it would be worth paying the extra for the vierzonord extreme with the 5mm neoprene or if the standard ones will do the job... Anyone tried either model? Cheers
  5. My Dad now knows the routine and doesnt have to ask... First place he heads for once driving out of Nashville airport is Bass Pro! Great store spent many an hour in them...
  6. Has anyone tried the above company for ear protection?? http://www.ultimateear.com/index.htm Whats the verdict.... good service/worth the money? Thanks
  7. I also use the Natural Hi Lost to feed 2 Springer’s... Both dogs are in cracking shape and the shine off their coat is commented on at every trial/shooting day attended. Cheers
  8. Thanks for all the advice.. I think I will head to my local clays and try a few guns with an experienced coach!! I like the sound of a m/c gun which can be used as an all rounder.. At the moment I cant see by the Silver Pigeon as its what I have been using so far. Now I just have to keep my eyes peeled and hopefully the right gun turns up!! Thanks again.
  9. Hi All I have only recently got into shooting after a few shooting “safety lessons” at clays with a friend. Since then I have been mostly shooting rabbits over the dogs with the odd pigeon while out in the field. The gun will mainly be used for game shooting but would like to use at clays as and when the time allows. Now am I am starting to look into buying my own gun but not really sure where to begin. I have been using a Beretta Silver Pigeon S 12ga O/U 28” and seem to get on ok with it. Would I be best seeking out someone with experience of gun fitting then taking it from there? Also would I be best looking at buying a good second hand gun or new? Bit of a long winded boring post but we all got to start somewhere I suppose.. All advice appreciated. Thanks
  10. Sorry my mate has already picked one up.. Hope you get it sold.
  11. Been trying since the beginning of the week to get a hold of the farmer with no luck, hardly surprising at this time of the year!! On another note though, have just logged into my bank today to see that the cheque has cleared my account... Surely they wouldnt have cashed the cheque without the final paperwork being completed? Mark
  12. Sorry I meant the form he was filling in... Nothing on the Shotgun application form.
  13. Cheers for the feedback I was kicking myself last night after he went.... If only I had left it as Clay Pigeons!! On the form I had Clay Pigeon shooting and for the purpose of Dog Training, when he was at the house we discussed the Clay pigeon and he was also asking about the training "What will you be shooting?" (Rabbits) so this is why he is now pushing it for land owners consent. Although if I had left the form as only Clays im sure he would have dug deeper, it’s not hard to miss the kennels full of Springer’s!!
  14. Hi All Recently had a visit from my FAO with regards to my shotgun application, everything seemed to go well. The one thing I was asked was where was the land that I was planning on using the shotgun, as I am just getting into shooting with help to train my dogs I have no permissions in my name. I have always been invited to bring my dog along on days while my friend was shooting/training. I have only bumped into the farmer once or twice with the usual pleasantries, now the FOA wants to visit said farmer and land (best of luck getting a hold of a farmer at this time of year with all the combining that’s going on up my way!!) Now I’m just abit worried of what’s going to be asked of the farmer and if he will be bothered with the hassle of visits at this time of year. Has anyone else been in this same situation? Cheers Mark
  15. Hi I am having a visit from our local FAO next week regarding my shotgun license. I have only recently starting to get into shooting to help with the training of my dogs. What kind of things am I likely to be asked next week? Thanks Mark
