  1. I'm sure the enjoyment will justify the expense, enjoy!!!
  2. Thanks for that dude, just been on there, all the info i need
  3. Thanks to the other lads who did give me useful information, i appreciate it.
  4. Mate, i asked a straight question for a straight answer, if you got no input then keep your idiot comments to yourself. I'm new to the ******* sport and thought i could get answers on here.
  5. I know, but up until now i've only been shooting pigeons. Will read up now i'm finding a desire for other stuff. Hope their still coming in 10 days :-)
  6. Whats the law surrounding the shooting of geese and ducks?? There's been probably a hundred geese plus ducks on my permission for the past 2 days, when i saw them my eyes lit up, lol. Wanted to go running over and wipe as may out as possible, BUT, i thought i best check to see what the crack is with them first. Craig
  7. I'm still a newbie to the pigeon shooting but i've been through a patch recently where i could'nt hit anything, literaly. Besides your possible decoy problems ( i'm in no position to advise you on that), you could possibly be thinking about your shot too much with the ones that you've still got a chance with, that was my problem. If so, perhaps have a few weeks off (I had 5 off) and go back over with a clear mind, whilst your off the pigeons do a bit of clay shooting. Worked a treat for me. Good luck. Craig
  8. Yeah, i have already thought to myself i'm build myself up for a big disappointment, i should say if it's as busy as today my aim is 150 lol I'm in walsall in the west midlands.
  9. Feel on top of the world, been out tonight (in the rain) and bagged 80 birds in 3 hours over freshly cut wheat. My best yet!!!! Most exciting shooting i've done so far, bloody great!!! Can't wait til sunday, my aim 150.
  10. Well, i can't honestly say that i soley go out on the field to control pests. I go out because i love the sport, i love being out in the countryside and whilst i'm there i shoot as many of the little b******* as my shooting ability permits which in turn results in me controlling pests. End result is that I'm happy, farmers happy, everyones happy. What i meant by not wasting a life, is if i've ended it's life i see it as my responsibilty that its put too use in some way even though they are pests and i'm starting to hate the ******* things.
  11. As i said earlier Sauer, i have never dumped any yet. I have respect for both the countryside and animals, would never waste a life. Made a new contact the day before yesterday so went out and brought a 5ft chest freezer. Job done Craig
  12. Mate, thankyou for that, don't think the chap would be to happy if his 20 year old bird died from lead poisoning. And thanks for the number. Gona send you a PM, see if it's any use to you. Craig
  13. I'm new to the sport, not got the contacts that you get aquire over time.................. Or did'nt until an hour ago. Problem solved now.
  14. I NEVER waste them, i've always given them away to anyone who will take them, even the messy ones get used by a friend who owns buzzards (or something like them). The thing is i'm starting to get bigger bags and its become more difficult to shift them. Plus it's getting expensive so could do with finding someone to buy them.
  15. Bit far for me, i'm in walsall, west mids. Is that price about the going rate? Enough to cover the cost of the cartridges i suppose, a cost free hobby sounds good
  16. Two very good ideas there. The meal sounds nice, will definately try that one. I've never used real birds as decoys, still a novice. Do you use the "cradles" for that or are there other options??
  17. Just wondering what you lot do with the dead ones?? Sell em, dump em or give em away? Just started to get reasonable numbers on the field and i'm at the point now where i don't know what to do with the damn things. Been trying to find somewhere that will buy them off me but local places are not interested. Any heads up of who buys them and prices involved would be much appreciated.
  18. I accept your point Lee. As for looking after them i pressumed they'd be a bit like rabbits?? Feed em, clean em, excersice em. I may well be wrong. I do have no idea whats involved in the hunting side of them though. I'll maybe give them a miss for now then Regards Craig
  19. I may take them if no one else does, been thinking about getting a ferret. Do ferrets work well at getting rabbits out of the holes??
  20. Would'nt suprise me if that is true in the usa. I just got refused a licence for my six year old son.
  21. Possibly mate, i'm not far away myself. From Walsall (near cannock). I've never been to a game fair and was thinking about goin to this one. Where about do you live? Craig
  22. Looks like a tidy machine dude. You should get some enjoyment out of that. How long you been riding?? I just sold my 08 R1, well, february. Always been a Gixer man myself but took a trip to the dark side for my last purchase. First time without a bike in 14 years, been missing it lately so had a ride up CMC sunday, just browsing though. Might pick me up a winter bargain early next year. You ever been on track??
