    Hi.

Im looking to fence around the outside of our duck pond, this is to stop them wandering up a field / possibly drop down into a burn close by / request off the farmer to reduce damage, we both know they’ll be flying within a few weeks.

    On my order ‘list’

    1. A fence post every 3 - 4 meters (ground is reasonably flat and soft) posts will not need to stop stock. 1650 x 65 pointed.

    2. 900 x 50 mesh, single height.  As mentioned this is to keep them in to start with, I know vermin will get over it, at the moment it’s open. Pegged down, not sure to go to 1200 high.

    3. length of wire at the top and bottom which of course are stapled to the post.  Not sure if single strand or multi would be best.

    Thoughts on my shopping list?

2.5 centres for post put a brace at each corner if you do it right you dont need a wire top and bottom just staple neting to post would use 75mm round posts

Have you considered a lever action, I have had several over the years and loved my Winchester 94's in .357 and .44LC Rossi do them in that caliber also. Lovely guns for gallery rifle and dead easy to maintain. I agree with you about the Ruger I used to use on at my club on occasions and it was awful compared to the Winchester (sorry Ruger owners!)

Have had marlin lever action in 44 just thought something different

  6. Just put in for a variation for a .357 but want a bolt action theres ruger 77 and enfield is there any other makes to look for done a search on net but only these 2 come up your views on these two would be helpful Thanks Terry

Have any PW members driven the new model Duster in hilly terrain?   Brochure for the 2018 model 4x4 suggests a very large gap between 1st and 2nd gears (1st  = 3.6mph/1000rpm, 2nd = 9.97mph/1000rpm).   If starting off on a long steep hill, you would presumably need at least 5000rpm, maybe more, before you could change up into 2nd.   Years ago, in a very low-powered car, I had to drive all the way up Porlock in 1st gear, and it wasn’t much fun.

Had a test drive in a new one was told don't set off in first gear use second he said first was realy a crawle gear this was in a diesel
