  1. Hello all I was out shooting with a "pigeon shooting guide" recently and i was told my magnet arms were to long for his liking. Myarms are 4ish foot giving a 8 foot spread bird to bird. Also the birsd are about 3 foot off the ground. It is a home built wiper motor type. Any help / measurements would be helpful. Cheer James
  2. Hello all Went out decoying today as i haven't been out since Feb time and only been decoying for about a year (but have shot on and off about 20 years). Had a really good day shooting over stubble, I was a bit concerned as it was sunny but it was OK. I ended up 29 woodies and 1 crow. I lost 3 pigeons as they fell in cover but the head keeper will run his dog through tomorrow. Speaking of our head keeper he was on the other side of the farm with his brother in law and they bagged 25. Thanks for looking James At home with my daughter who is three and a keen country girl. My hide against the hedgerow.
  3. Hello all Popped into my local gun shop today i have had my eye on a .17 CZ 452 with a 16" heavy weight barrel it Feels really nice and solid and short (good for shooting from the truck.) BUT I was then shown the T bolt, very nice action, light but with a long barrel. My mate will do the packages for the same price what do i do. Has anyone out there got any experiance with either of these rifles ?? Also i have had the .17 + mod on my ticket since march and not had the funds, my best mate and shooting buddy got his cleared yesterday and is getting the cz on saturday! guess living at home with mummy gives you more £'s in your **** pocket (not bitter at all) LOL Can anyone help or lend me money Cheers James
  4. Thanks all My rifle is spot on zero at 50 yards so should be good. I think it could also be I am rushing shots I dont know really I will need to practice at night more. The trouble is you get frustrated and worked up. Thanks again James
  5. Hello all I have a ruger 1022 (please read on dont judge yet, LOL) At 50 yards in daylight i can put 5 shots in a 50p time and time again but when im out lamping i cant hit FA. On sat checked zero spot on so went out sat night hit 1 rabbit and missed about 10 all 40 - 55 yards away. So... on sunday went out for a bit to check zero and killed a crow at about 60 yards and a bunny at 47. Any tips or advice would be good. Cheers James

  9. Beautiful gun mate. I'm a nostalgic hammer gun owner, I took on my grandads 12g side by side two years ago when he passed away. Its a Spanish gun made in 1963 probably with no monetary value, but like yourself I used it on my first driven game shoot. I hope you don't mind me posting some pics. Hope you enjoy using yours. James
  10. Weel its got beech stock (standard) 8 x 56 scope Moderator 3 x 10 round mags + 150 ish bullets ........£50 Its off our head keeper he says he is too old now, he wanted to give me the rifle but i wouldent take it off him for nothing. So he argued with me and i bid him up to £50 eerrmm..... thats the first time I have ever haggled up for somthing I was buying LOL Hopefuly getting it tomorrow James
  11. Hello all Got back from work today to find my ticket on the door mat TOOT TOOT ! It only took 3 weeks. Made a call ... now got a Ruger 10/22 coming at an unbelievable price. Also got .17 HMR + mod on my ticket this will come soon (lack of funds). Look out bunnies here I come !!!!! James
  12. Hello all Been out the last two Sundays with my friend and his two Jill's and not had much luck. He has no experience at all and i used to go when i was 13. His Jill's aren't bolting OR pegging any rabbits we worked 5 or 6 warrens and only got 2. How long do you leave your ferrets down for before moving on ? We worked in a wood recently and bolted 1 rabbit (the only one of the day) filled the holes then moved on, we went back a week later and 5 of the holes had been opened. Any tips would be much appreciated thanks James
  13. Thanks all Spoken to Edgar Brothers they have said pin should be 75mm Spoken to another gun shop in Norwich they have said pin should be 75mm My new pin is 75mm and i think mine has been added too as Floating Chamber says. Took it to my local gunsmith today who has worked on a lot of remmies in the past. He stripped it down and thought it all looked ok but there was a bit of play in a bar/block in the trigger housing so he dot punched this as they become loose over time ( he told me) So he put it back together and tested with a primed but not loaded cartridge. BANG !!!!!! **** me it worked with the old pin. Took it down the farm on the way home 4 carts through it all fired ok "TOOT TOOT" Changed pin for the shorter "standard 75mm pin" 4 carts through it all fired ok "TOOT TOOT" Phoned my gunsmith and told him he is a witch doctor and thank you very much. He wouldent take and payment as he only looked at it. Hopefuly all is now good. Thanks for all your advice James
  14. Nice to meet you too mate hope our paths cross again ! Had a play this weekend good fun it is chambered for 3" but its a bit tight in the breech when the cart has been shot. Had a thought when i get my FAC might be able to get a variation and get it converted back to orig 5 shot with removable mag. James
