Think about it. If the flapper is going all the time pigeons will think a bird is about to take off and will swerve away. Get yourself a timer. Random is OK, but I set mine to 8 flaps, then a 20 second interval. Works for me. I rarely use my whirly these days.

I use 1/4 and 3/4 through Invector Plus chokes. With 32 grams of 6.5 shot. (Eley HB Pigeon.) Fibre wad.

Being able to shoot well, from a sitting position, is a great advantage when pigeon decoying.

I have a failed field of beans that was going to be sown to spring rape. The estate has now decided to put in millet. This will be a first for me and I wondered if anyone had decoyed over millet before? Hopefully it will be as good a draw as lupins.

Benelli Super 90 does it for me.........

I've used a set for about two weeks now. They certainly do the job, but feel a bit tight, and less comfortable to use, than my regular electronic ear muffs. Handy to keep in your pocket, when mooching about and expecting the occasional shot. In the hide I still use the electronics.

One well aimed shot with a bolt action!!

Mine are on OSR, but the flocks are splitting up now. Looking forward to some spring OSR, (going in soon.)

I log on every evening and during the day sometimes, at weekends. I only reply if I feel I can contribute to the subject, but stay out of it when the subject has been discussed over and over again in previous posts.

I always put my flocked shell decoys on cradles. Seems logical to me, as long it is not too windy.

Northants are four weeks behind, due to the new set up.

SNAP!!! I've also got a Miroku MK38 Grade V Teague. The rubber recoil pad would snag occasionally so I had it removed and a plastic heel plate fitted. It cost me £55, but the gunsmith makes them from scratch, and the workmanship is first class. I'm a very happy bunny now.

Did you hear about the rancher who couldn't keep his hands off his wife, so he sacked 'em.

Have had the same problem, with my CZ Varmint .22, since I bought it, from new.
I also use Eley subs!!!!

Wind from behind yesterday and deeks the usual distance out. The pigeons were trying to land on the headland, too close to shoot sometimes. The wind was strong and they were trying to land in the lee of the cover.

Golfers, please do not wash your balls in the sink!
I hope you can run across this field in 12 seconds because the bull can do it in 8.

Cue tumbleweed..............

Not weird or rare, but satisfying. 3.5 rocket launcher.

Catamong,
I wouldn't be without one either, even though I hardly ever use it. As far as spring drilling goes I have several fields of lupins that are a very good draw for pigeons. One field of beans that failed will be sown to spring rape soon so I might get some action on that. If I think my rotary should come out of the vehicle I'll use it, but until then I reserve judgement on their usefulness, in my situation. Leave me alone. LOL
A first time.....

One gamekeeper, on ground I shoot, stops shooting foxes when the game season is over, even though he rears pheasants.
