  1. Hello Rich welcome to the forum.

Can't find much for your gun but here is a couple extracts of what I did find.

    ------

The gun was built for Winchester by Laurona in Spain for distribution in Europe during the late 1970's. You should find some spanish proof marks that will give information such as date of manufacture.

Most spanish made guns have a one or two digit proof date code stamped on the watertable of o/u's and on the barrel flats of SxS's.

    http://www.9mmlargo.com/year_codes.htm

    ------

So if you find the Spanish proof code, you should be able to id the year of manufacture I would guess.

    :good:

  2. First of all, good luck to you both. Secondly, (& without any judgement of anyones actions on my part) you made it everyone's business the second you posted details of quite a personal event that envolved you, your new partner & both your ex's on a public forum, so expect opinions and what would appear to be not unreasonable questions.......

You did just post this on a public forum..

Good luck to you and the new misses. :good:

  3. renaming Big Ben the Elizabeth Tower, i think not.

Is that a dig or real? Surely you cannot just change the name of a national monument.

Like someone else said it's a tradition we do well - all the bumpff.

My glass shall be raised if i'm ever alowed down the pub today :drinks:

    EDIT:

Big Ben is the name of the bell. The clock tower is the name of the tower.

I like the idea of Big Ben being inside Elizabeth's tower!

Do I have to leave now of apologise for causing others to go?

    Lampy

And next time I shall read the next page

  5. This isn't the end of the world! You need to keep calm, if you don't he won't ever speak to you about such matters again for fear of how you'll react.

Instead, ask him how he felt, did he have a good night on it? Was the comedown worth it? Does he feel any paranoia?

The problem with demonising drugs is that if they are hyped up as the worst, most dangerous thing ever and this this and this can happen to you whilst you're on it etc etc, that when someone actually takes it, it's nothing like the hype! Bit of gurning, a buzzy and good feeling, have a dance, good laugh with your mates and then a comedown which is often far less nasty than a hangover!

It sounds like both you and your lad need to educate yourselves about it more, it could well have been curiosity as well as the peer pressure, one of those things you sometimes convince yourself you need to try itAnd

In my youth i tried it, didn't like it one bit and never bothered with it again (don't drink or smoke either, although tried them both as well!) I'd say there is a very high percentage of late teens/early 20's who have tried a few illegal substances and no harm done.

He may well do it again the odd time, it doesn't mean he'll end up an addict or moving onto harder drugs at all.

If the 18-30 age group took an ecstasy pill instead of a skin full of alcohol on a friday/saturday night, the uk would be a much nicer place!

    Best reply on this topic.

Just be calm about it, after the come down he probably will not be doing anymore. Peer pressure is a big part of it.

Also I believe there isn't really any "E"'s around anymore because E dealers got prosecuted as a class A drug dealer which lead to them being made from a form of MD and thats is even stopping now and they are more commonaly piperazine based. None of which is nice stuff.

If it was me I would be looking for a new group of friends.

  6. professional indemnity insurance has nothing to do with the above.

I am probably wrong but I believe it is for people like solicitors or anyone that sells their knowledge. If they give you bad advice basically it covers them.

Nothing to do with an injury claim though.

  7. I slipped 3 disks 6 months ago and have been on morphine ever since and it's horrible if I forget to take my tablets at night even the next day I feel freezing cold cannot get warm or anything. Few shots of oramorph help though untill the tablets catch up. Helps with the pain I guess.

  8. what would professional indemnity insurance have to do with an injury at work?

He said about compulsory insurance and I just followed on from what I started to say and mentioned that it was a compulsory insurance. I didn't say it had anything to do with his particular predicament.

Sorry for rattling your cage. I shall go back to sitting in the corner and be quiet.

  9. I thought all employers were required to have insurance?

If you've been injured at work doing your job then that isn't a claim of 'illness'- its an accident. If you cannot work following that accident then your employer should be able to claim on his public liability(i think?)insurance. Theres a big difference between "I've got a bad tummy can't be ***** coming in and can skive it on a self cert for a few days" to "my arm has been injured at work due to something not within my control and I can no longer do my job". Your employer is responsible for your wellbeing during your working time and as long as you haven't been a **** and arsing about they have a duty to look after you subsequently.

I hate the ambulance chasing culture we have become but it sounds like you have a legimtimate claim against your employer, and he against whoever else may have been involved.

That'll be employers' liability compulsory insurance (ELCI). This protects your business against claims from employees for accidents or sickness they may suffer as a result of working for you.

Also if you have a business involved in law, accountancy and financial services you are also legally required to take out professional indemnity insurance I believe.
