  1. We have stopped shooting them on the one permission we have where there are quite a few. We dont eat them, they are not doing any quanitifiable damage there so live and let live.
  2. They are excellent, I have one on my Ruger .223 and have been very impressed. One of the chaps down the range who was next to me thought it was a rimmy it was so quiet when I was using 55gr Federal to zero in. Cant stop the sonic crack of course but thats pretty much all you get. Am wondering how good they are when you start using .308, .338, etc. and above?
  3. I got my Sec. 1 stating I wanted it for decoying pigeons and also for harvest time when the rabbits can bolt at the same time in larger numbers. Got it straight away with no further questions asked.
  4. Thanks all for nice welcome, I think I am going to like it here! Cheers Alex
  5. Thank you kindly, now I have seen that avatar before on another forum... is it you or has someone nicked it from you?
  6. Thanks for the welcome, seems like a good bunch on here and am glad I joined up, I know **** well and shot with him a couple of times up at Purbeck and on the shoots at Bear Wood. Dont get up to Purbeck as much as I would like to these days as if the weather is good am usually out in the field but do love a good day up there busting clays!
  7. That's a good bit of advice, the tinned tuna and dog biscuit mix also works well as it will take Charlie a while to eat it as he has to eat it on the spot and can't carry it away. He will also smell it from miles away! Cheers Alex
  8. hello all been watching this forum a little while so thought i had better join the ranks am into decoying, lamping, stalking and have a couple of farms and a few odd patches of land here and there around dorset and hampshire. got to say i probably enjoy the pigeon shooting the most out of all of it! been shooting a fair while and have a reasonable collection of rimfire, C/F and shotguns. i also belong to christchurch gun club and purbeck shooting school looking forward to learning and also hopefully contributing a bit, i am also on another forum as well and find them great for those wet and horrible days when you dont want to be out in the field with a gun under your arm! cheers all alex
