    3XL Browning Dirty Bird, only selling as I have bought the next size down due to weight loss. 6'2 and 16 stone then this will be the best wild fowling / hunting coat you will get. I've tried them all from Cabellas to Deerhunter and this is the best on all fronts. I have added the official blurb below but essentially this is as waterproof and warm as they come with some top features, cuffs are great and you get no wicking of water up the arm, the mesh layer between the linings stops you sweating and the material is solid - Its on Ebay at £120 + post - PW members £110+post

  12. Best Coat - if it exists ?

    I have quite a few jackets. An old Barbour which looks and smells great (am currently buying another) but is now very worn and a bit tight with a thick jumper underneath. A couple of Musto, neither of which are gore-tex but take some beating. A fine weather lightweight Deehunter and one my nephew has just brought back from NZ, but if by 'best' you mean waterproof and warm then it has to be a Laksen gore-tex I have. It has never let me down in any of the ****tiest weather a UK winter can throw at us, and it can only be worn in the coldest weather and even then with just a thin layer underneath as it is toasty warm.

    If this is what you mean by 'best' then I believe you have to look to the Nordic/Scandinavian countries.

    good call, that's where i'm "concentrating the search". I have a Harkila pro and that takes some beating- just not a marsh coat

    I have been sent two of these from the USA so one is for sale - sizing is generous, I'm 6'3 and and medium / slim 17 stone. Plenty of room for layers underneath. Used mine on the last two flights of the season and i was well chuffed with it.
