  3. I bet you would but unfortunately I want to try and recoop at least some of my money If your interested in any individuals let me know. They good lures though, Storm is owned by Rapala VMC and I think Rapala bought them up when they released this lure, since then Rapala produced it's new ranges including the same long cast system, weight shift system/internal rattle, integral moulded lip and insert eye's and above all came away from traditional wooden lures, all came from this lure. I use alot of the Rapala too and the X-rap 6's to 14's are modeled on the wildeye minnow, I honestly out fish the X-rap with these except for on perch.
  4. Yeah sorry just spotted that, I thought I'd put "35 a set" :look: If i get more interest from peeps wanting individual lures, I'll split em all up but I thought I'd put em together as the sort of sets I usually carry with me when I'm using them, that way you got all the bases covered
  5. O yeah thats right, cos I'm that stupid I want to give them away @ 2.91 each lol Tell you what if you can find em for that including P&P, provide me a link for evidence then I'll quite happily match it. Just to be clear, it's 35 per set and thats including recorded delivery which means the lures work out around a fiver a piece which is less than they normaly cost. I might actualy split up the 2n'd set an shift em individually if anyones interested.
  6. Hi folks, got 2 sets of 6 Brand New and sealed in their individual boxes Storm, Rapala VMC WildEye Minnow Pike and Bass Lures. I use these lures alot as they are very successful, recently picked up a few sets to replace the ones that have been chewed up or lost but I kind of over did it and ended up with a few spear Pike and Bass selections. There are a total of 6 lures in each selection that will cover you for pretty much any situation, salt water or fresh, coloured water or clear. They are killers on pike and bass and there is no limit on how you can fish them, I've trolled with em, used them like a jerk bait and straight retrieved them and I've always caught on them. Stats/Features: 12cm in lengh, 20 g in weight. Specialy balanced for long accurate casting. Internal weight transfer system than not only adds to the lures movement but acts as a strong vibration in the water. Superb Holographic Naturaly detailed finish. and dives to between 5 and 7 foot. They usually sell for well over a fiver each, before you even get to P&P... I'm looking for about £35 a set and I'll post em anywhere in the UK
  7. Hi Folks... I have for sale a set of 12(1 Dozen) GreenHead Gear Mallard Shells complete with motion stakes. These are the oversizes Pro Grade series and I have compiled a "Harvester" set of 6 Feeders and 6 Active stance birds. It's very difficult to obtain these decoys in this country and even harder to get the Harvester packs, usually you have to buy 12 of each to create your ideal spread. Hence why I have a set for sale Tried taking some actual pics with my phone but they where terrible when uploaded so grabbed some better ones off tinter weeb The Active birds have a 3 different style heads from alert to tucked in, while the feeders have 2 head styles, basically left and right. These really are superb quality decoys, ideal for shooting over stubbles, for around the edges of open ponds, for grassy islands and banks on the marsh or in an around flashes on water logged fields. The motion stakes are actually quite long so you can quite easy set these birds out over water probably 8 inch or more deep. I actually took my set out (Without my gun!! ) just to see what they are like on the stubbles while the Mrs was sorting the horses this morning.... I stood back admiring them when I heard honking form a skein of Canada's going past, when I noticed them start banking round I crouched in some standing corn and watched in amazement as they circled and dropped in!! So I guess you can even put these out with your goose deeks to ad confidence. Even a couple of very silly woodies decided to drop in close to them, but I've seen that quite often before These deeks are normally only obtainable from the States and as I said, very rearly as a mixed pack, one style will usually cost about 90-100 quid before postage... I'm looking for about £150 inc postage but Open to Offers and will be happy to either have them picked up or local delivery Pm me if your interested... like I said, I am open to reasonable offers
  8. Do you have any let days available for the coming season?? And if so how much?? I'm always interested if as you put it, the price is right
  9. Do you think the wad choice makes a vast amount of difference in the pattern?? I know that with the full cup/petal (h40's) wads your restricted to a lighter shot load than with the likes of the h17 but would you say that the heavier load makes up for the fliers created by bore contact?? I'll try a couple different types of course but you guys seem to know you stuff so no harm in askin hey Thanks for all this info guys.
  10. Yeah I defo think I'm gonna be ordering some kit from them. Thanks again for that Andy It's powders and loading data I'm gonna be needing now. I do know of one or 2 sites with some on but any other info is much appreciated.
  11. Excellent resource Cheers mate My searches where comin up with nothing
  12. So no loading press then... would I be right in saying that a re sizing tool may not be so necessary if I'm using spent shells fired in the gun going to be used with the reloads?? That just leaves De and Re prime tools and importantly a roll over tool... can these be purchased easily to the 410 spec?? Pray do tell more about this PW member a stones throw away with all the goodies
  13. I've had several .410's over the years and so too has my old fella, we always do use the eley's, usually in #6's. They are good but certainly over the last few years I've found them to pattern a little erratically, irrespective of the gun/choke etc...?? The only thing I can put it down to is the fibre wad... I it obviously increases the amount of pellets in contact with the bore thus causing deformation and increased fliers but I think it may also lead to the pattern splitting earlier ?? I don't know for sure but it seems feasible. I've not tried the #7's though, might give em ago.
  14. I would but your a little out the way from me to collect... I've found a stockist, only has a couple boxes of the winchesters in but I'm defo going to get into this home loading I think. Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated
  15. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha  I wonder if they have ever considered doing stand up??? Cos at first thats really funny!!!!! I'll defo be getting into loading my own alot quicker me thinks... Anyone know of any equipment for .410 going??? And any good recipes??
  16. Does anyone know of any Remington or Winchester .410 cartridge stockist's??? More so the Remington as I believe they shoot really well and come in No.4's in the 3" shell. I have used the Winchester 5's a few years ago and they where pretty good but I was given them and don't seem to be able to find any suppliers?? I will eventually get into loading my own, but I really would love to try out those Remy's!!! Anyone with any idea's... much appreciated
  17. Alot of the fuss about taking a hare with an air rifle is not only due to the animal being a tad bigger than your average bunny, but also the fact that they are classed as game, a status that gained them special privileges and the common pot hunter a lack of them back in the old days. It is always frowned upon taking Game with an air gun plain and simple, mainly because it was less privileged people that owned them. But of course your average hare is indeed a big animal and does deserve respect just like any other animal we are lucky enough to have the chance to pursue... that being said I have seen far more hares limping off or dragging limbs as a result of both shot guns and rim fires. Infact every hare I've ever seen hit with a shot from an air rifle has been flattened straight away, usually with an aerobatic flip upon impact. But thats just my experience and I'm sure maybe others could tell you differently. Realistically speaking though on paper your 12ft lb gun working consistently and suffering no serious sudden lack of power should be able to deliver around 4-5ft lb of kinetic impact energy out to 25-30 yards, this energy transfer + penetration is ample to kill a hare if the shot is placed accurately in the head (just behind the eye). Infact the size of rabbits and hares skull is not too dissimilar, varying usually by only a centre meter or so... the hare with it's loose rough fur gives the impression of a much larger head. As for evidence of the ability for taking a larger animal with such a gun, I believe the Americans often hunt Woodchucks/Ground Hogs with air rifles of the 12ft lb mark, for what they call close up work lol and the ground hog is considerably bigger than a rabbit. I suppose at the end of the day it comes down to you personally and what you know you and your kit are capable of. But if in dout, leave it for another day
  18. I'd love to start up a club, I really would but in this area it'd be more a syndicate and would end up revolving around rough shooting which is fine if thats all you want. But you'd have little in the way of wildfowl to shoot at other than maybe if you where feeding a pit or flash. Which on it's own isn't going to sustain a clubs whish to shoot duck. Then there's also the fact that if people are gonna pay, they want somethin to shoot at, on the above basis thats gonna involve pheasants or releasing birds or some ilk, thus basically just turning it into a basic saturday syndicate with more over heads and less freedom for it's members. I'm saying this because as far as I'm aware the only foreshore with no shooting on it over here is where Sefton Council banned it at Marsh Side, Southport. Lets face with all the coffin dodgers petitioning against everythin in Southport and the RSPB having the fresh water marsh on the inland side, Saten will defo be skating to work before anyone's ever allowed to shoot down there again. Now by all means if anyone knows any different or is from the same area and has any ideas about this they'd like to share, get in touch.
  19. I know this is an old thread now but it's one thats relevant to me as I've been looking into local clubs and talking to a couple of members. I might mention that I too am local to the Preston area where the problem seems to be the worst. I chose to quote the above response because the idea of starting a fresh club at face value is a good idea however when you've no land to start it on because it's all taken up then it's an impossibility. If the available local marsh or wetland is taken up then how on earth can you start a new club... apart from buying out or out bidding the existing clubs, which is not gonna win favour or even likely to happen at all, so your pretty much stumped. Another point is that I'm always getting told by the odd member from various clubs "O we've lost such an such a piece of land now".... The clubs in terms of land permission are getting smaller and the membership is staying the same, but in near enough every case of lost permission, it's a tale of someone buying it up or a question of funding. The problem is that like the young chap said in an earlier reply above, some of these guys don't shoot half of the ground or even at all, it's a massive problem round here in general actually, people sitting on permission and not using it but kicking off to land owners if anyone else does. Now I'm not saying all the club don't use the grounds but if it comes up that a certain land owner wants more money for the rights but that land isn't shot by alot of the guys... well it's not gonna get paid for by the majority for the minority is it?? The problem started many years ago with the "Clicky" side of things and the rot has set in firmly over the years, so much so that now clubs are pretty much stuck in a rut that they don't appear to be trying actively to get out of... the attitude of "o well at least will still have" is't going to last forever and to be honest I don't think alot of them actaully care. As long as they have it now thats ok... not what the clubs actively promote, but certainly what some members attitudes seem to portray. I think that if these clubs took a leaf from some of the rest of the UK's clubs books and where actively working to not only preserve what they have, but also to exspand then they would be doing their club, members, the environments they look after and the future of our sport a far greater justice. To coin what someone else said, more members equals more money for more land and ultimately more power in terms of lobbying against any infringement upon their sport. I don't think this will happen though, so saddley I guess as I can't drive hundreds of miles to try and bag a duck, I'll not be joining a club.
  20. Hi Folks... Looking for some roost shooting for my self and my dad around the West Lanc's/Southport type are's, anywhere from sefton up to Preston ways is fine. Willing to pay a fee within reason. We are both very experienced guns and always have the greatest respect for land owners and there property. Please PM or reply. Thanks
  21. Happy days!!! Anyway... I'm not that bothered about that.... So whats the score about this here paintball gun?? Obviously I didn't mean to break any rules or anythin and genuinely didn't know it was a problem, is this just a site thing or is it regarding some regulation I should know about??? I know there was alsorts brought in about bb guns and replica's a little while ago but as I'm a rifle and shotgun kinda guy mainly it's not somethin I followed up on.
  22. Sorry. I didn't realise that a C02 paintball gun was a problem ?? And my point about the forum was that it could be far better not to have to root around to find things, it would be much easier and more user friendly if they where obvious. I know this is somethin that my Oldfella, a new comer to the site, has real difficulty with.
  23. Hi... I posted a add earlier for a Paintball pistol that I have, just to see if anyone on here was interested really as we are all into shooting or one form or another. It was posted in the trading post thread. It now appears to have vannished?? Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?? Also, in trying to view topics I've posted on etc, I find this forum very not user friendly... others have things like active topic tab, latest post tab and very useful is view own posts tab. Might not be a bad idea to upgrade things alittle around here, some folks would probably use the site alot more
