I have one of these
There was an article in sporting gun in the late 80s early 90s about Steve and his shotmaker
You could purchase the shot maker from him or just the plans to make one

I bought 10000 D and J cartridges long before the price hikes I think I got them for about £88/thou
I used them through my remmi 1100 at skeet other than they were a bit dirty I shot more straights with those than I had done with any other shells
The worst shell I have used was some which were being sold at lakenheath in the days they would have the starshot of an evening and you paid for everything in dollars
Flames would come two foot out the barrel and if you were using an auto out of the loading port
Not sure of the name of them but I think they were Turkish

Had it been a couple from a working class background living on a council estate and not a professional middle class couple who went out on a jolly leaving their small kids alone in a hotel room I feel they would have been hauled over the coals

I have a 28 gauge Remington 1100 and have used cartridges from 14 gram to 28 gram
The 28 gram were very good shells and used them successfully over decoys
With birds killed cleanly at sensible ranges

28 ounces you'd need a second mortgage to fire bismuth through that
Sorry the greens edge is far enough for me though I do admire you guys who still use a punt gun

Have you tried candle smoke
By playing a flame from a candle on the upturned ramp it covers the ramp in a thin coating

Thanks for the replies guys
I usually use hodgdon clays or longshot powders but have a tub of A1 I want to use up
The load data was from the Nobel web site for use with 32gm loads
I only use verified data when loading I just wanted clarification to grains
I get some cracking loads from the clays powder in a CF case but it's expensive so I might try some of the vectan AS for 1oz loads
