I understand Thurrock Clay club at Horndon-0n-Hill are looking for members - skeet only believe.
Alternatively look on CPSA website for a list of clubs.

If, as has been said, it's easy to get into the habit of sliding the safety off when mounting the gun it's just as easy to get into the habit of sliding the safety on when closing the gun.

Leave it as it is and don't rely on a safety catch
Excellent advice and cheapest way. Spend the money saved on cartridges.

I wonder if GMK will now start pushing Franchi. Similar cost and Franchi are part of Beretta as are GMK, i understand.
-
Thanks to both for the replies but I'm looking for something cheaper as a second gun.

Looking for a true LH gun, not a recast righthander.
Multi or lightly choked - quarter/half?
Something like an E. Rizinni sideplate with palm swell possibly.

Have to say the Jimny is a little gay looking. Would have to be a brave man to drive one of those.
Never thought of myself as brave - is that a virtue?

Do you need 4wd?
-
I bought one about 10 months ago and the only downside is fuel economy - around 32-35 mpg but saving 8p a litre locally at the moment compared to diesel sweetens it a bit.
Running it with standard tyres it's surprising good off road and due to lack of weight does better than the Ranger on ATs.
Great as a 2 seater I put a raised floor in the back so guns slide underneath out of sight.

Shouldn't the question have been asked before you ordered the car?

Thanks for the reply.
It does look like some of the Spanish guns built to English patterns.

Daihatsu own Subaru so I wont be surprised if they do
Subaru is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries. Toyota and Subaru planned to develop some models together but this appears to be on hold.
Toyota own Daihatsu.

Seen a Perfection branded SxS for sale. Looks quite tidy and good price.
However I've never heard of them and the only info I can find refers to american guns late 1800s.
Anybody help?
Thanks

Mobil chokes do not fit the latest Escorts.
Someone in an earlier post suggested the late ones are the same as Remington but I haven't checked.
I do know, from personal experience, that the extended chokes on my Escort work loose very quickly - I "nip" mine up using a Teague choke key.
-
I have a new Escort with extended chokes.
Browning chokes definitely don't fit mine. i tried after reading the above post.

Dare I mention Hatsan ?

After visiting my local Smiths today I too have decided to boycott them for shooting mags.
Despite being 5 foot 10, I can't reach the top shelf!

A centre diff allows you to drive on roads in 4wd. Locking the centre diff makes front and rear axles drive at the same speed but still allows wheels on the same axle to drive at different speeds.
Jimnys have no centre diff. Drive is a fixed split 50/50 front & rear so drive is maintained to the opposite end if one wheel spins.
That's why a Jimny should not be driven on a dry road on 4wd - either tyres will scrub badly or the transmission will suffer.

i just did a little "exercise" to see what charges are like.
Chose a skeet vest at $69, then at checkout chose the all-in option that guarantees no extra charges on delivery.
Total went up to $129!

The delivery driver is required to see your shotgun cert before handing over the goods for "Just Cartridges"
How many carriers can provide this service?
-
Thanks for that info Canis
I too want a twist applied to my stock so I'll be looking elsewhere to get the work done.
-
Thanks for the replies guys.
In reply to Canis, I actually live in Essex but pass their way regularly.
The reason for my interest in them was I am thinking about having a gun fitted and they seem able to do everything on site - fitting, pattern plate and stock adjustments and the quoted prices seem good.

Hi All
Has anyone had any dealings, good or bad, with the above shop at Westerham, Kent.
Also, what are they like for inhouse gun repairs?
Thanks in advance

When buying cartridges last week my shooting partner noticed his certificate expires early in November.
I understood Essex Police sent out reminders 3 months before but he said he had received nothing. He phoned up and was told they haven't started on Novembers yet - whatever that means.
Anyone had any recent experience with renewals in Essex?
Thanks in advance.

Been offered one of the above but as yet unable to see/handle it.
Anyone any experience of these. I know there're built somewhat differently; wondered what handling and balance is like so I know if it's worth going to see as it's a bit of a journey.
Thanks in advance, you've not let me down yet.
