  1. Thanks for all the welcome messages from you all. Nice to be made so welcome, and nice to here from members who are local to me. Thanks guys.
  2. Thanks guys for the replies. I really appreciate you all passing on all the useful information. Having been away from the airgun scene for some years, so much has changed and I feel there's a lot to catch up on.
  3. Thanks. So another question then, is it ok to leave a PCP filled when not in use? And is there a maximum recommended time before it should be vented (if that is the right terminology)?
  4. Hi Steve, Not sure which. I'd love a Daystate Huntsman Classic or an Air Arms S410/510, but the finances won't stretch to that at the present time, so just weighing up the options and costs of all the things I'll need on top of buying a new gun, such as bottle, pump etc. I'm only just discovering the range of modern PCPs available, after coming back to air gunning after many years away from the sport. So I'm keeping an eye on the second hand market and making a mental note of makes and prices. I appreciate your offer to try out the pump, it would be great to try it once I've got a rifle. And nice to hear from someone else in Southport. Gavin
  5. Thanks guys for the friendly welcome. Really enjoying working my way through all the interesting posts on these forums.
  6. Thanks, that not too far away. Have you used them? Any idea what they would charge for a refill?

I knew someone who had the same problem with stickers all over his guitar. He tried lots of things to remove the glue left behind. In the end it was MrSheen furniture spray polish that worked. A quick spray and it all wiped off with a soft duster.
  8. I currently have a HW77k, but I've been thinking of getting a PCP. The only problem I see with a PCP is charging them up, so I would guess I'd need a diving bottle as well. Does anyone know of somewhere reliable in the Southport (Merseyside) area that can refill a bottle? I would probably want to get a manual pump as well as an emergency back-up. What I don't understand, is that I have a garage style air compressor, but have heard that these won't have the pressure required to charge a rifle, so how can a hand pump manage? Do they really produce higher pressures than a compressor? Thanks for any pointers.
  9. Hi, Did this happen? I've only just joined PW, so didn't see your message in time. I'm in the Southport area and I'm just coming back to shooting after a long break so I'm interested in finding out about any shooting that is available in the area. At the moment I only have an air rifle, but am willing to offer my time to accompany and help out anyone on any type of shoot. Willing to help and learn where-ever possible and lend a hand.
  10. Hi all, I'm new to PW and am really enjoying reading through all the posts on here. I'm wanting to coming back to shooting after a long break. I have a (non-FAC) Weihrauch HW77k air rifle in .22 calibre. I haven't yet found anywhere to shoot, but would like to find somewhere local that I could hunt rabbits and pigeons. So at the moment I'm just been plinking in my back garden. I'm in Southport (between Liverpool and Preston) and it would be nice to find other members on here that are local to me so do please say hi if you are near. Looking forward to chatting with lots of members on here, and reading all the really informative postings and discussions. All the best to everyone for the new year ahead. Hope it provides good shooting for us all.
