  3. Hi Retromic, they seem to be shying away, there seems to be a flight line along the tree line at the rear of the field, they come along twos & threes turn toward the decoys and then seem to shy off steve
  4. Hi all, I'm fairly new to pigeon shooting (8 months), am planning my next outing next monday in the Cuxton/Halling area of kent and am wondering if any of you more experienced guys are available for some help (tutoring) ?? The farm i have permission on has 2 fields set to turnips and 1 to barley, My last two outings have been very grim (not a dickie bird) so to speak, not sure if i'm doing somthing wrong as i was faily sucessfull before the snow arrived last december. steve
  5. Hi, I use HULL Special game 30g 6's, Seem to work well on pigeons and pheasants steve
  6. Hi all, I'm planning shooting again next tuesday at first light, Spent yesterday sitting in the hide (had a couple of shots at a couple of pheasants) but no pigeons, they didn't seem interested in the decoys (not helped by the battery on the rotary being flat), Will i have more luck starting at first light instead of 9ish ? am shooting over turnips ? Do any of you guys have off days (only been shooting pigeons for about 6 months) and so far have had a reasonable size bag each time ?? steve
  7. Hi All, Does anyone else suffer with this problem, I shoot over a fairly large farm in the medway area of kent and the farmer lets a couple of local lads shoot (although by all accounts they just want to let rip with a gun) last week i popped up for my usual visit only to find aprox 50-60 empty cartridge cases in the gateways, i have a good relationship with the farmer (he's my wife's uncle) and im always consious of picking all rubbish up and using the correct cartridges (the empties i found were plastic wad 9's skeet cartriges) seems all they are doing is scaring the birds and making a mess. steve
  8. Hi All, Just wanted to say a big hello from a newbe to PW in kent, and ask if there's any of you in my area ?? steve
