1/2 & 3/4 will be fine, whereabouts are you shooting?

I use wooden tunnels, but they are quite bulky.
You could use weldmesh, or I have seen this type of plant trough used with a round hole cut at each end. They would be light weight and stackable, but you would have to find one with the right dimensions to allow the trap to spring, but not leave too much space above the trap.

Have a slab of these carts and hava a days pheasant shooting in couple of weeks.
Does anyone rate them for high pheasants?
I haven't used them myself but a lot of people I know swear by them. They also get good reviews.
32g 4's will be perfectly good enough for high January pheasants.

Use hollow wall anchors with a setting tool -

Another vote for hollow wall anchors, great bits of kit

A friend gave me an ancient Stihl 08S, I have fitted a new spark plug and drained the fuel and replaced with Aspen2 (still doesn't start), can I have your advice on getting it going. I am/was mechanically minded but just being a bit lazy!!
Cheers
First, check it's got a spark. If that ok, pour a small amount of oil/petrol mix in the plug hole and try to start it. If it runs for a few seconds then stops, check the fuel filter in the tank. If that fails it may need the diaphragms in the carb replacing, especially if it has been stood for a while.

Ian Coley also puts on simulated game days over the summer, details here.

Bad puppy!
Maybe you should let Purdey take that out on shoot days, may stop her running in??

Thanks Bob. This mod is much darker than the one in the link above, and is almost black.

If i was you i would get another 5 shot mag as the 9 shot ones dont feed as well.i have both with my finnfire and using the same ammo the 9 shot regularly fails to feed.cracking rifle though good choice.

Not sure when they stopped making them, but they are as good as everyone says and they are quite sought after. I managed to get one that had only fired about 200 shots a few years ago and it's a pleasure to use. I have had the barrel shortened, otherwise its standard and very accurate. Its probably worth at least what I paid for it, if not a bit more
As far as I know the Quad mags don't fit.

I think the rules are that pheasants are classed as livestock when they are in the pen, but wild birds outside. However, I am not a lawyer, and you need to get some proper advice before you take any action. Who owns the woodland? Is there anything that the land owner can do to help you?
Unfortunately, the damage being done is not limited to the birds being killed, the rest of the birds will soon disappear with that kind of disturbance

We just release ours straight on to the water. Make sure they have been on water at the game farm, otherwise their feathers may not have enough oil on to make them waterproof and they could sink

The Midland game fair in September is usually good for everything on the list, should be plenty of choice.

I don't know that one, but there are some very good shoots around that area. I have been lucky enough to shoot a few in recent years Salperton, Shipton Down, Coombe End Manor, Stanway etc
