  1. tried taking it to where i bought it, they would send it back to bsa... i'd like to be able to do it myself, (it could save me a lot of money if i can do it, but i could stand to lose it as a learning experience. who knows, it may help someone else in the future).
  2. i'm sure they can see red, as soon as they see my laser or red dot sight they run.....
  3. ERRRRRRRR!! don't you mean stella Mike Ive If you are buying ill drink anything :yp: mine's a guinness ..........remember: never shoot under the influence of alcahol! (it carries worse penalties than drink-driving!) :o
  4. i've just bought a 10ltr 207bar bottle (it was for my bsa spitfire... long story) for £40, he didn't realise that it hadn't been tested for some time as he hadn't used it for a while. but for £19.50 (paid by him in good faith) the bottle has just had a 5 year full test, can't be bad eh? ok, so i won't get many fills for my s200 from it, but i still have many other uses for when it's pressure is lower so i'll be making the most of it.
  5. entirely your choice, (& probably the best one, as long as you're happy with it). please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions / comments, i'm (nearly) always eager to answer. (my address is in this conversation somewhere.....)
  6. i'm having problems accessing the seal at the front end of the cylinder (the one retaining the rod & front seal going through the centre), i need to remove it to clean the internal parts & possibly replace the seal (yes, i have removed the 2 screws holding it in place!). i would like to have this gun working again as it is a very good one for it's price & it worked very well while it lasted. i really don't want to have to send it back to bsa if i can help it!!!
  7. i know how you & others may feel about my comment, i feel the same as i run an air arms gun club & cannot afford to take any chances with the law. my apologies if it sounded a bit suspicious but what i am offering is a perfectly legal solution which will keep the gun within the legal limits & without the need to change any parts (this is why i asked about fac). with respect to the power, i would suggest taking it upto 11fp max. (this leaves a little room for the difference in pellets affecting velocity), most people won't need any more than 9-10fp anyway as this is fine for most purposes (you're right of course, 9-12fp doesn't make a great deal of difference to the fp but may affect the power curve a little). any further comments are very welcome!
  8. whether or not you have an fac (please let me know), if you're still interested in tuning your s200 then please contact me at carl.stephenson@yahoo.co.uk, i can tell you how to do it & also how to flatten the power curve! (this information is not available to everyone, hence i will not be posting it into this conversation. please contact me direct).
  9. where can i get a green laser at a reasonable price? they are generally expensive when used in other applications (such as disco lighting), but they may be ideal for ratting as rats are too used to seeing red dots!
  10. i was just reading all the comments for this conversation, some interesting points. i would reccommend filling to 180-190 bar (my brother insists on filling his to 230 bar, is he crazy?), if you fill too much then you are likeley to blow out your seals (the cylinder may be tested to a higher pressure but remember, the seals are still the weakest point as they are only made of rubber. have you ever seen a projectile air cylinder? they make one hell of a pellet & may damage the gun in the process!). but don't let this put you off, i would highly reccommend this rifle to anyone as it is very affordable, very accurate, very reliable & generally very safe to use. when it comes to problems zeroing a scope, i would reccommend a small strip of tinfoil placed front-to-back between the scope & the clamp (not beween the clamp & scope rail!) as packing material, this will allow very minor modifications to raising your scope rather than using something thicker like negative film. also, you should consider which scope you are using as some are very easily knocked off zero (you shouldn't have too much trouble with this as the s200 has next to no recoil). hope this helps... ps. i have a friend who has just bought a logun solo for £400, he decided he was going to oil the barrel & poured it down the muzzle! (he now has a flooded weapon & will be very lucky if it works for much longer). please don't make the same mistake & under no circumstances use any petroleum-based lubricant as this will destroy every rubber seal it comes into contact with, use a silicone-based lubricant for problem-free shooting!...
  11. personally, i find laser sights useful on occasion (for rangefinding or for taking a quick "shot from the hip", - even better if you have the thumbswitch installed!). yes, some are of a very poor quality & have large spots, but these can be focused if you know how. others have a much better focus & prices can range from around £20 - £80 (cheaper if you get a second hand one from someone who just wants rid of one). the main downside to having a laser fitted is that whatever you are aiming at knows you are there & can run before you can properly aim & pull the trigger (rats & rabbits are very good at this). if you do intend to get one, i would suggest mounting it so that the line of sight is as close to the muzzle as possible (mine is clamped to my silencer which gets it very close to being on target at any range, you may be able to get it closer by mounting it to the barrel). any other comments, constructive or otherwise, i would love to hear about...
