  1. Sorted, 5 inches sq seem to be the magic figure. 14 greys and 3 mags over the weekend alone. :look: They are good looking traps your building, maybe a new business venture?
  2. Yep heavy duty 2" mesh. It breaks down into 5 sections so it can easily be moved thats the reason we used the timber support. Takes about 10mins to setup which is handy. Looking forward to deer season as I reckon bit of cold weather and deer bones will make it very attractive.
  3. Think it's down to about 5"x5" now must bring the tape later. Attached picture was the first time we deployed it.. most got out later that evening Plenty of foxes about, normally don't bother this time of year but this farmer has a serious issue with Charlie so he was delighted. Always good to keep them happy. Got 120 pheasant poults last week so i'm sure it's only a matter of time before the trail cam picks one up sniffing around the pen.
  4. Went down last night and have 1 grey which I taught was better than nothing until I talked to the farmer who informed me there was 6 in ot at one point during the day. So the gap has now been made smaller again! So hopefully today i'll have a few more! Did manage to shoot my first fox cub of the season, nice vixen, good size and weight. She came in so fast I had to put the rifle down and pop her with the shotgun.
  5. Cheers mate, deployed last night with the gap between steps narrowed from 7" to 5". I have a wire which can be added if necessary. let you know how i get on. Cheers Eoin
  6. Oh greys, serious amount about after breeding season. if you could get me the lenght and width of say the ladder squares. Got over 30 crows on the first day but the grey i put in got out and the farmer told me there was 4 greys in it at one point but must have got out.
  7. Fair play mate, as you said you can never have to many. Running 8 at the moment. Question for ya, you built a ladder trap a few years back. I have just completed one also and was wondering what distance did you put between the ladder steps? Cheers Eoin
  8. Most of them are 1:8 twist rate.. I never drop below 55gr as they just don't perform well. 55gr Remington Accutip or Fereral Power Shock group well in my Tikka
  9. Good work Mark! Spot on Mark! Did a week down the uncles last week, it was like heaven! fields are all 5+ arces !! Don't have to get out every two minutes to open gates. The cub bashing startes on the June Bank holiday weekend! I haven't been shooting foxes locally for a few months now!
  10. Ordered the Bushnell 41-8048 TRAIL SENTRY 2.1MP07 from Cabelas on Saturday for $79.99 plus $16 postage arrive this morning. With the exchange rate cost me €62 .. Happy Days !
  11. John West Sardines in Brine - don't know ho people eat them but works for me when i'm out trapping!!
  12. Good work Mark, as I have the same gun and lamp setup I don't know how you do it !! Some workout having to do any sort of distance. I've shot 13 this week must put up some pictures over the weekend.. can't get over the size of them lately they are all massive!!
  13. Would have loved this last year to see what was trying to dig under my Pheasant pen !!
  14. Yes actually finally got out last wednesday and bagged 4 followed by 5 on thursday night.. just when the lads are finished collecting foxes also.. have a picture of the 4 from the wednesday night must post it.. Was having accuracy issue with the 223 for the last while, got a better\harder barrel brush which seems to have solved the problem both nights were 100%, 4 from 4 and 5 from 5..the cold weather helps as they were a lot more interested in the calls... downloaded a jack rabbit distress call and is working a treat from the jeep CD player..
