  1. I'd be happy to get one for that, shame the place you linked to is so far away :( (I'm in south wales) Is there much variation in price between retails? Should I be haggling with the guy? Because I'm not much of a haggler.
  2. Speaking of price does anyone know how much difference there is between the A400 and the Lite version? The retailer I'm getting it from doesn't have it listed on their website, but the A400 Unico is on there for £1300 inc vat.
  3. Thanks of all the advice, yes today I decided I'm just going to go for it and now really looking forward to ordering it on the weekend.
  4. I looked that them, TBH I'm 70% sure I want the Xplor A400 and 30% for the Urika2 391. I like the synthetic finish more than the wood too. But the A400 just feels really comfortable. As for the Maxus it's what I went into to look at originally but when I got my hands on it I wasn't as happy, plus I don't think reliability is as much a key factor for me since I'm not a serious shooter. It's funny if you follow the threads I've posted you could probably see me going around in circles with this decision. I think when I go to buy gun I'll ending coming home with a new washing machine and wondering *** happened. So the Maxus has less recoil than the A400 in your opinion?
  5. Sounds like all good things, although one person said they had problems with Hushpower Subsonic 32gm cycling, so will avoid those.
  6. At £5 a shot I'd want them to pour me a cup of tea while they go off and shot the target themselves
  7. Thanks, I did a search before on A400 but didn't get any result...this was because I was a n00b and didn't realise I was filtering on the thread I was in :\ I'll check out some of the posts now
  8. Shoulders fine, I'm just a wuss that's why I'm going for a gas rather than inertia driven and a stock with a Kick Off. Thanks for the advice I will experiment with a few brands and see what performs best.
  9. Thanks for the quick replys and helping put my mind at rest. Also apologises for posting here I missed the "Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading" sub forum As for why I just find it's a person preference. Do semi's have more recoil (even with the gas system) then O/U?
  10. I'd be interested to hear any comments or feedback people have on this gun. It was very comfortable but I'm just concerned where all that weight saving comes from and if it's still going to as robust and reliable as something like the Urika 2.
  11. I've been considering buying a Beretta A400 Xplor light but since it's the low weight design it can only handle 2 3/4" to 3" cartridges and not the 3 1/2" ones. Will this be an issue if I'm just shooting clays? I assumed the larger loads were for things like turkey's so I wouldn't need them. Or are there 3 1/2 inch cartridges that are good for clays too that I might want to shoot some day?
  12. I just got back from trying guns at Litts and have now changed my again lol I'm not going for the Maxus or the M2 Field which I was also considering, I found the best fitting gun for me was: BERETTA AL391 Urika 2 Synthetic Although I do also like the BERETTA A400 Xplor Light :\ but I'm pretty sure when I go back to decide at the end of the month I'll go with the Urika
  13. Is that a French pump action? Are those legal in the UK?
  14. I'm also thinking of getting one in the next couple of weeks, a few people recommended it in the semi-auto thread.
  15. Really? I watched a couple of videos on youtube and the Maxus looked easier to disassemble (not that there was much in it). I'm probably going to Litts this weekend and hopefully they'll have one of each in stock so I can take a look.
  16. Thanks for the quick response, I feel better about going for a 28 inch barrel now and even considering a 26. I assumed the pattern would disperse more quickly so distant targets would be harder. When I said comfortable what I really mean is my arms are knackered after a long shooting session So if I can get away with a short barrel and lighter gun mores the better.
  17. Are short barrels that much of a disadvantage? Does it depend on the target range? I shot clays so the traps vary. I'm thinking of getting a 28inch barrel gun and just wondered if I was making life harder for myself. But I find it's much more comfortable to shoot with than a 30inch, in fact a 26inch would be even better. Could the right choke help with this? I'm pretty new to shooting so any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
  18. I joined just to ask this question Basically I've got my decision down to two guns, either: Benelli M2 Field or Browning Maxus Both are the same price and have good reviews. At the moment I'm slightly in favour of the Maxus.
