  4. I bought some last year at a good price but i priced them today they shot up 32 g fibre 6's £62 for 250 but they have got some knockdown power
  5. I only use 32g 6 or 5 in fibre rottweil 32f 28g are ******* shiite on pigeons there for clays. Try shooting pigeons 45-55 yards out with 28g and you'll not have many

  13. Hi, I went for a stalk on the weekend to try and slot a buck for the table :o after having an invite of a friend in whiltsire. We arrived at the farm about 6pm and went for a walk around the farm, looking for signs of deer we got to a part of the farm were it touches a small wood there was plenty of slots about so i was feeling lucky so i set up about 140 yards from the wood and sat back to have a fag and chill as it was a warm evening just as i finished my fag i noticed in the corner of my eye a deer had come out and was feeding so after a quick check with the bino's i could see a nice looking buck i looked at my invite as i thought he'd never let me take such a fine looking buck He looked over and said fill your boots are you sure i said he said ye take the shot when your ready I got down on my belly and scoped the buck my heart was going ten to the dozen i let the .243 rip slap the buck hit the deck i reloaded and watched as the buck lay there after a minute i unloaded the rifle and went over to check my prize as i got close i was shocked at how big this roe was i thanked my invite :( he said no worries here's a couple of photos what do think of the head
  14. They just make it up to try and put people off trying to get it. i might just put in for a .338 mag just to wind them up
  15. Hi Spoke to F.E.O today and asked if i could have the .270 for fox and deer their answer was no only for deer . So i said i've been told by other people that you can , he said there's a new restriction come out recently but its only given out in special cases i said, explain to me what's a special case he went on to say that its only for experienced shooters?? i said fine i'm on my second license with a open ticket for fox and deer but he said i'll have to open a case with the firearms manager and put it in writing and she has the final say . what a load of shiite they change the rules all the time It makes sense to give someone one rifle for everything than have a cabinet full surely
  16. Alrite tim, ill ring sara williams tomorrow and find out ill give you a bell in the morning once ive spoken to here hope you bag charlie let me know were are you going down the pheasy shoot??
  17. Alrite dekers on my FAC, It say the .243 rifle and sound moderator and the ammunition shall be used for shooting fox/deer and for zeroing on ranges or land over which the person has lawful authority to soot. The .270 rifle and the ammunition shall be used for shooting deer and for zeroing on ranges, or land over which holder has lawful authority to shoot.
  18. Hi i think you got your wires crossed my 243 is super accurate and ive been loading my own for ages 58grain vmax for fox and 100 grain softpoint for deer what im asking is that the 243 doesn't have the knock down on fallow deer and is quite messy on roe deer south wales police have granted me a bigger calibre for deer but am i aloud to go lamping foxes with it or can i only use it on fox when im stalking. cheers. if so ill sell the 243 and go for a 25.06 or a 270 or 30.06
  19. Hi i was wondering what was the biggest calibre rifle for fox ?? Ive got a .243 for fox and deer and a slot for a .270 but rather than buy two rifles i wondered if i could go for say a 25,06 and just have the one rifle i dont do a great amount of stalking but the one permission i got for deer the shots are around the 200 yards and the 243 on fallow doesn't quite have the knock down at this range also could i go lamping with a 25.06??? for fox ive heard mixed reports of people saying you can have any calibre for fox now. but i thought that you can only use say the 270 for fox if im out stalking and not go lamping for fox with such a high calibre. Whats your thoughts cheers
  20. If I do a letter to the police do I lie and say he's shot plenty or tell the truth and say we've been out a few times and he hasn't pressed the trigger and has no experience lamping in semi urban areas. I think ill tell him to take me lamping on this new permmision of his and once I've seen him shoot a couple of foxes ill sign him off.
  21. That was my thoughts I seen it a few times were new shooters get tunnel vision and don't think of backstops
  22. Hi I was after a bit of helpful advice. Here's my predicament I've been a mentor for a friend for over 6 months who has a .243 and .17hmr he got his 243 by asking a farmer for a letter although the farmer doesn't let anyone lamp on the land because of horses that was the only permission this friend had and to be honest with the weather beening so **** and work commitments and doing a full refurb on my nans house after work and weekends I havn't had time to take this friend out. now last night my friend rang and said I've picked up a cracking permission for hisself and could I write a letter to have the mentor lifted , but afterwards I was thinking that this fried has only fired about a box of 20 rounds through his .243 at paper and never shot foxes with a lamp and only shot 1 rabbit with his 17hmr my worry is that this farm borders a pro golf course and a busy beach should I sigh him off or insist he gets permission for me and I mentor him a little longer what's your thoughts
