    Lamping

i got the lamp & laser kit HERE go to the lamps and battery packs bit. they have 1 left and its on offer, it's great for up close work such as rats. ok the deben lamp is easy to adjust, fix it to your scope via the clip provided. make sure it is centred, this is done by eye. then point rifle at a tree say 20-25 meters away. turn lamp on point beam directly at tree. holding rifle steady look through scope if scope x hairs are to the left or right of the main beam adjust lamp via the allen screw in the middle of the turn adjuster on the back of the lamp. once this is done you can then set the elivation via the turn button. if this dos'nt work you may have to open the lamp and adjust the insertion depth of the bulb, i know this sounds dumb but how deep the bulb is pushed into the holder can make a big dif.
  5. .22 requires less cocking effort in a springer than .177 .22 pellet is heavier therefore doesnt need to be propelled so fast for 12 ft lbs .177 needs to go best part of 200 ft/s faster for 12 ft lb so stronger spring / more cocking effort needed. Tony Actually as the .177 pellet is much lighter than the .22 pellet, it is therfore easyer to propell faster and reach 12 ft/lbs, HG Ha Ha here we go back to the great 1.77 or .22 debate, think the answer is ask the shop if your daughter can possibly try it before you buy

Tony Cheers for tech info looks like xs15 maybe too tough to cock for a young lady.

Battery case mod to shoulder strap. Take 1 old guitar strap or sports bag strap, 2 x large key rings. Attach key rings around belt loops, bobs your uncle pants stay up where they belong.
  8. Hi I got my Mrs an SMK xs19 .22 it's got a big recoil and is very noisy, so not a good hunter, she also finds it hard to cock being a break barrel (maybe because it’s a .22 not sure about the 1.77) she also finds the trigger quite hard. I put a Walther 3-9-40 scope on for her and after quite a bit of practise she is now hitting small cherry tomatoes of stakes in the ground at 30 meters, she also gets a kick out of hitting eggs at 40 meters. I know SMK’s arnt every ones cup of tea but as a cheap plinker she loves it. Hope this helps. Ps don’t tell any body but I quite like shooting it but she’s better than me with it.
  9. Nah i dont get paid for the Pheasants just get to keep half i shoot woot woot, who said farmers arn't fair.
  10. It’s a good idea! I’v been down this road before. I obtained an intermediate food hygiene and preparation certificate from the local college (3 day course). Spent 2 days with a local butcher friend of mine to correctly skin and prepare rabbits for public consumption. With knowledge and certificate in hand went out to find the fattest pot bunnies I could find. After 2 hours got 8 good quality foodies (that’s what we call em up here). Left them to hang in cold storage for 2 days as per butcher instructions, carefully skinned and prepared them for selling. Toddled off to local pubs and eating houses I knew sold rabbit dishes. My prepared meat was received very well but it was then I began to realise the actual value of a bunny, I was informed that to make a decent stew to serve say 4 people 6 bunnies were required (me and the mrs only need 2) and then to cost it out to the customer as a finished meal at say £6.50 per head I would only get 50p per head of rabbit. All in all a good experience but in terms of time spent to profit not worth it. However I now receive 20p per head from a land owner who has given me shooting permission on his land, buying his own bunnies off me is I think the best business solution. Ps he has loads of pheasant on there too. (not long now before shotty gets an outing. Yummy.

Ok I got mine and WOW so much better than the logun. It needs 2 things · A permanent fixing to the scope as the 1 provided slips all the time, I believe there is aluminium one available. · The battery is so heavy on the belt straps it literally pulls your pants down. I have modified the battery case to a shoulder strap fixing. (Pics and how to will follow) All in all a cool piece of kit, had 6 floppy eared friends in 1st hour just walking around. Ps I did have the red filter attached.

  14. Purchased from Surplus Store Cost £35.00 Genuine Umarex product I would have been happier if the silencer was all metal but the main body is plastic, however it is still solidly made and well constructed. It can be fitted with the open front site still mounted. (I removed mine 1st day I purchased the rifle) The silencer reduced the muzzle noise completely; the only noise from the rifle now is the firing pin. All in all a fantastic bit of kit and a must for anyone who intends to hunt with this rifle. Rating 9/10 would have been 10/10 if all metal. Advice worth remembering! Take the allen key into the field with you! As any Airmagnum owner will know from time to time when you forget you have re cocked the rifle you by accident load a seconded pellet. The only way to clear it is either pushing them out with a cleaning rod, or in the field taking the mag out and firing at the ground. If you are going to use this method remember to remove the silencer before firing! I didn’t and it blew the front of the silencer off, I was lucky to find the front piece UN damaged and it pushed back in with no adverse affects but as I say I was very lucky. PS Replacement drum mags also available at £8.00 each.

    Lamping

i have not Received mine yet but before i purchased it i read this. it would seem there is a rotary adjustment on the rear of the lamp. 12V 50W xenon bulb and reflector combination has increased beam brightness to 400m and battery life is a full 1.5 hours. New speed elevation system, no more fiddling to get the correct beam alignment. With the Tracer® Max the elevation and windage are controlled by a single rotary adjustment at the rear of the housing.

    Bipods

Hi guys need a bit of info – help before I part with hard earned cash. I have had bipods on a few of my rifles over the years, but I now find myself with a AirMagnum 850 which is composite and unfortunately did not come supplied with a swivel stud to add a bipod. So the question is should I buy one, which attaches to the barrel. Iv heard if you do this the point of impact could be shifted by up to 4 inches! Any ideas or thoughts? i was looking at this one Moor info here thanks in advance for any input.

AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH Don't do it. The cheap e-bay ones are dog dirt. In a nut shell if you zero the laser in with grub screws you will be disapointed. If you use turrets you will be better off. (however saying that the laser on the bottom of AXE's s16 seem to do quite well and that is grub screws, I dunno maybe I am talking out my ars3! I bought a really cheap chinese 'laser' last year and it wasn't a laser at all. It was a bright led with a crappy lense and it wouldn't light up a target at twenty yards in daylight. KEEP away from too good to be true offers. They really are too good to be true. I Have one of these and the zero has not shifted in the time iv had it, oh and it's fine in moderate to dark conditions.
  22. Umarex 850 AirMagnum Purchased from Guerrilla 29/06/2006 Calibre/ .22 Air source/ Waltham 3,1 0z ( 88g) C02 Scope/ Waltham 3-9x40 illuminated reticle no.8 Add-on’s = Hawke laser/illuminator Combo kit Ref HK3508 Pellets tested Air Arms Diablo Hunter (1.037 Grams) AccuPell Crosman ref (112430) Field Target Trophy ref (61256) Milbro TR Webly Hustler Needle Point All above shot well but only the Air Arms Diablo Hunter Fitted the 8 shot magazine perfectly. All others caused jamming problems on quick re-load. So for the remainder of the test I will be using the Diablo Hunter. Background information. This is my first C02 riffle, my preference being good quality spring break barrel or a top of the range Pre-charged rifle. With this in mind I was a little apprehensive testing this rifle, but as the vermin & pest control officer for our local golf club I was asked to find a cheaper yet proficient alternative to the more expensive rifles on the market. First impressions I received the rifle less than 24 hours after ordering from Guerrilla. On opening the box I was impressed at how modern and aesthetically pleasing it was too look at. As this was my first “Plastic†rifle I expected it to feel cheap and light. How wrong I was, it felt solid, well constructed, and expensive far beyond it’s sale value. It was heavy but well balanced. The 8 shot mag and re-load is smooth and fast. (certain makes of pellets may jam and cause probs) PS I lost a 8 load mag after 3 days a new 1 will cost you £15 so be careful. Testing The setting for this was a small wood at Staden Grange farm 2.5 miles outside Buxton In Derbyshire, a still day at 22.C I set standard Bisly targets at 30 meters (approx 32 yards) From the box it took less than 10 minuets to zero the scope (see target on pic) I fired 8 shots in total 4 test then 4 into the blue, over 32 pellets I achieved an average grouping of 1.56 inches (39 mm). During my research of this rifle I read you can get 400 shots from 1 C02, I thought this was a little ambitious, I achieved 300 at full power and a further 50 at 10 meters less range. The accuracy of this rifle diminished over 35 to 40 meters the question is “ok it hits targets is it a hunter†well see pic, this puppy hit a large buck at 29 meters stone dead, I have now fired over 3000 pellets through this rifle & so far so good. Tips. Grease bolt and firing pin regularly to prevent future wear Rating Looks and feel 9/10 Performance 8/10 needs cheaper air source and increased range Total performance and price 9.5/10 (I Love it.) This is now in service as the preferred vermin & pest control rifle for the Cavendish Golf Club Buxton Derbyshire. please feel free to comment or ask further questions.!
