Right i went back on the range yesterday to try a couple of different rounds. I left the rifle as it was the last time around with no twicks. I first fired 3 shots of Hornady's. They went 4" hight with 1.5" grouping. Then i had 3 shots of federals. Bulls eye with 3/4 of an inch grouping!!! So it looks like the rifle just doesn't like PPU's. Very happy now and federals all the way

I went on the range yesterday to zero my 223 CZ 527. At 50 yards it grouped just over an inch, but out at hundred yards the groups opened up to around 4 inches. Is this normal, can just be the bullets or something else might causing it (could even be me)? I used PPU 55gr bullets. The scope is a cheap nikko sterling gamekeeper properly tight. The range was indoors so no wind issues. I have put around 25 rounds (all PPU) through the rifle since i thoroughly cleaned the barrel, but the barrel still seems to be very clean. Someone at the range suggested it might need more rounds to get back to grouping properly. I will try to go back and try different bullets, and also have some shots without the mod. I welcome any advice.

I have just sold my rapid 7 so the following no longer required 7 shot magazine bought direct from Theoben (when still around), used as a spare and hardly used, £14 first class standard postage and paypal fees included - SOLD TO BIGMAN Small buddy bottle. The bottle is old with a 1987 date stamped on it but in very good condition and full working order. It was used on my rapid until the day i sold it. It also comes with a cap that alone cost around £10. Price is £28 same condtions as above. Edit. People asking what the size is, but i can't see a size stamp. Thanks guys. That is what I did before I went to the range, looked down the barrel and aligned the scope. So you can imagine my surprise when at 100 yards it didn't even hit the board!! I have put it down to a faulty/unsuitable scope, but nevertheless the experience was not a good one. By the way the scope that came with it was a Center Point 6-24x50. I have never heard of them myself, and after some investigation they seem to have been imported for air fifle use. It has gone back now.

I have desided to buy a boresigher as my attempt to zero my .223 has cost me dearly on bullets and range fees with no result!! The question is, do i use the sighter with the mod on or of? I intended to only shoot it modified. Many thanks PS. Any recomendations on a good but resonably priced boresighters?

Has anyone used the above scope on a centerfire? Will it cope with recoil? I know its just a basic scope but it was offered as a replacement to a faulty scope that came with my 223. I would appreciate any info. Many thanks Edit. Was meant to say Centerfire on the title!

I'm after a .223 rifle preferebly with wooden stock, but i will consider synthetic if a good deal arise. Any make considered. It has to be in very good condition. Well as here iam said "here we go again". The people who know everything without know anything are back! I respect everybody who have met Les and have their own opinion. Fair enough. The ones though that are from far far away and haven't even got a clue were Leeds is on the map, never mind who Les is, should simply keep it for themselves and go out and shoot a pigeon or two instead of slugging people they don't know off. I have been out with Les on numerous times, and I have met a number of farmers on our visits who simply knew who he was. I have found him honest and very helpful WITHOUT EVER asking for a penny or anything in return, unlike some other very "respectful" members on here that trying to make a leaving selling shooting to the desperate. My comments apply to everyone who is in Les’s position. It’s not fair to comment on people you don’t know. Especially the ones that can’t defend themselves.
