  1. I have been doing the rounds of local gun shops trying to find some tungsten matrix or bismuth 3 inch loads for an old magnum I have recently aquired. All I was offered was bismuth at £56 for 25 and TM seems to have disappeared. Plenty of steel but my gun wont take it and I wont use enough shells to make home loading practical.

I find this frustrating - we are asked to use non lead loads but trying to get them is near impossible without having to buy a modern gun and use steel which I am loathed to do.

Surely there must be some one making tm or selling bismuth is smaller boxes?

Or are we all to be forced to use steel and have to buy new guns to cope with the stuff/

  2. Am looking for a new jacket to replace a Riverswest Alan Jarrett jacket. Have had no prblems with the Jarrett but it is woefully short on pockets.

I'd like a short jacket, same length as the Jarrett with plenty of pockets, a must is an internal zipped pocket for keys.

Prefer breathable one too at a sensible price.

All recomendations on jackets and suppliers welcome, the shops around me have very little to offer.

  3. Any ideas how l can stop actions and stocks being scratched while in the cabinet? I use a breakdown cabinet to store 3 guns at present and dings and scratches could be a problem. Dont have space for a full length cabinet.

Some sort of cover for each stock/action would be the solution but where to get them and what should they be made of?

  4. Last winter I switched to an over and under for my fowling from an SBE2, because when I shoot fowl and game every time I switched from the auto to o/u my cartridge to kills would drop for a couple of flights, so I bought a 3" beretta OU had the stock matched to my game gun, had an Isis recoil reducer then the gun dipped by HydroGraphics, my cartridge to kills went up and I never suffered the performance drop when I switched to my game gun, if I go for geese I use homeloaded 42gm hevishot 2's if there more than 35 yards if not it's steel 1's, for duck I use steel 3's and never feel under gunned. I've not missed the 3rd shot as I generally only used it as a cripple stopper. The HydroGraphics dip has lasted well, following advice I had the rubber type coating added and it was £20 well spent, with the Isis reducer I don't notice increased recoil attachicon.gifimage.jpg

How much did it cost to get the stock swapped, and where did the replacement come from?
