OK GUYS we altered timing pump no different so put it back then drained all old fuel, then replaced with £10 worth of new as thought only to find it was unleaded petrol drained that, put new deisel in took for a run doing 70mph only ever done 62mph tick over still smokes abit, question......should the deisel filter when pipe taken of preasurerise my mate seems to think that there is a blocked pipe somewhere due to the gunk of the farm,,

Hi guys Thank you for all the advice on the topic much appriciated dont know what else to do other than check timing on fly wheel and timing chain but have been told that if it needs new timing chain with all other parts that would be needed for a mechanic from a landy garage would cost about £500-00 thanks Regards Roger

would a faulty lift pump have anything to do with it

Hi what I have done today is changed deisel filter new one, drained all fuel from tank bought some fresh put in and run still smokes but not so bad probably needs a good run or a match

I have done that turning pump to it back to where it runs best, next thing try to get another timing pump change it and see what happens dont know what else to do apart from getting all the farm deisel out trying garage deisel

When it has run about 22 mile to the farm I switch it off switch on then it smokes when I go through the gears then overdrive doing about 60mph it seems to stop or hardley any smoke thanks for the helpthe smoke is doing my head in

Hi guys Im in need of advice Ive got a series 3 1983 2.25 N/A deisel when started it smokes (grey smoke) Ive had injectors reconditioned when driving in 4th and overdrive it seems to reduce the ammount of smoke is it overfueling? or could it be timing? thanks guys

I have a series 3 1983 it is not tax excempt and has the 2.25n/a engine got overdrive on it but smokes abit as if it over fueling so ive been told and is allready for shooting and is up for sale

here is a tip for pigeon shooters,, when painting pigeon decoys to spruce them up use black matt paint and some polly filler mix untill colour grey, paint on it dries a matt grey takes of all the shine works
