  1. I can also recommend Dan Bromley. He recently reblacked my 20g barrels and they look fantastic. Here's a link to his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Bromley-Son-Barrel-Blacking-Bluing-and-Browning-820775534655411/
  2. Hi I want to start entering clay pigeon shooting competitions - Although I'm fairly new to shooting I've had a few goes now and don't think I'll completely embarrass myself. I'd like to know more about the general set up of competitions and where may be a good place to start in the Kent area. As I would have no chance of winning I'd like somewhere that isn't expensive. Can anyone help? Many thanks
  3. My partner, 'barrelblacker' owns the shoot and does all the keepering. Bags are usually around 60-80 birds, pheasant and woodcock. I'm lucky instead of getting paid for beating I get a couple of days shooting in peak season as well as beaters day. I'm also lucky that as he works in the trade he was able to get me my first gun through his contacts at a really good price. Result all round!
  4. You're right, expensive but I need all the help I can get to hit them! My partner has been shooting for along time and I beat at his shoot, it's only a local one, not commercial. Nice and friendly and I get a bit of shooting too.
  5. Still here, keeping you all guessing!!! What do I really look like?
  6. Hi Kes, I use Eley VIP'S for pheasants in 28g 6's.
  7. It's true what they say, eating cherries can help prevent it.
  8. I also recommend muckboots. They're warm with a thick sole and reasonably priced.
  9. Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum so just saying hello. I'm fairly new to shooting and have recently got my first gun, a 20 bore over/under. I've shot mainly clays and had a couple of pheasant days from beating last season.
