  1. Yesterday I put her back on the creance and she flew for her food in the garden; at 2lb. 6oz. and obviously high she did fly all beit mainly in her own time. I want to simply get her used to being out again and get her into a routine for now. She is still moulting but also enjoys being out and handled!! Last evening, I went to the back door around 21:20 and Bobby started calling as soon as she saw me; once I'd acknoweledged her she called even more and was bowing down again with her tail raised!! This morning as soon as I opened the door she did the same again, and as you'd expect from me, I took a little footage I still need to make a new cadge for the car but I'm getting less time just lately to do anything I want Is she showing tendances for mating or just happy to see me?................I thought they bred January - March?? just click on the pic. to see clip.

  3. No not really, I'll still update to keep things running etc. last night me and the boy took the rimmy over one of my permissions; 5 rabbits in 20 minutes, the birds were happy when we got home and played about hitting a few golf balls as well. going out again tonight so hopefully get some more; might take the camera as well.
  4. Quick update, car arrived last Wednesday but Bobby is now throwing feathers like a split pillow and moulting Obviously I'm not handling her as much but she still flies for her food in the enclosure so keeping the bond. :look:
  5. There wont be any one flying falcons at squirrels but you might get someone flying Redtailed hawks. We generally try and steer clear of tree-rats as they can inflict nasty bites and put the hawk out of action for a long time. You could try the IFF (international falconry forum) http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/ but definately shooting them will be your best and more efficient way of getting rid.
  6. You'll do better to get the stiffer type for door mats; places like Lidl, Aldi, B & Q etc. sell them cheap as well. They are more hgygeinic and easier to keep clean than the close knitted 'grass' type.
  7. I found out today that the cars will not be in the country until June 1st!!! then they have to ship them around the country. brought Bobby in today and played with her and the lure; this is the first time that she jumped onto it and dragged it about. I placed a medium rat on there and after it was eaten she came off it without any problems.
  8. Slightly off topic but here is a live webcam of the local Peregrines with their 2 young and 2 unhatched eggs.............................. http://www.regencybrighton.com/birds/webcam/ watch it on full screen, the male just brought a pigeon back and the female was feeding the young.
  9. Not as big as she was when I first got her; she weighed 3lb. 1oz. yesterday and just on 5lb. back in November!!! Now I've had her about 5 months, I've come to the conclusion that she was definately a 'cuddly' bird!!! On the odd occaision I haven't been in and picked her up, she gets a little grumpy but as soon as I go in and get her, she loves to snuggle into me as if she wants a hug!!! She does enjoy coming in and 'watching' the telly or jumping about around the floor or flying around the room, then when I take her back to the enclosure, she nearly always gives me a little GHO death grip, before jumping to her perch.
  10. Sorry guys but the last 4 weeks we haven't been able to do much as I am getting a new car; I was told by the garage that 36 cars were due in (end of March) so instead of part 'x'ing it I sold it privately for an extra £300.......................................now nearly 6 weeks later, they are waiting for 75 cars to come in but still no sign of them!!!!! Would have been quicker to fly to Spain, and drive the bloody thing home .............any way, not much has been done, still flying in the garden BUT must get out over the feilds especially as the other birds have begun to moult. I gave her the lower third of a rabbit carcase yesterday and like before, she sat on it, hiding it under her feathers and would not let me near her!! She wasn't being 'really' aggressive but just enough to let me know that if I'd carried on, I'd more than likely be in some kind of pain I did take a few pics. so that might keep you interested.......................................... I was asked by one of my managers if I could take him, his daughter and wife out with the birds a little while back, not sure without going over the thread again if I posted anything about it but did take a few pictures.............................................
  11. Far from it, I'm speaking from experience; a few years ago, my neice who was just starting work got attacked and raped by an illegal that had a string of offences from where he originally came from. After 2 years and the law did nothing and he'd also attacked other girls from the same work place, I decided to pay him a visit........................................................................... As I said earlier, it was going on back then but it wasn't so openly broadcast.
  12. In those days, the perverts etc. weren't a known factor like they are today. Yes they were about but seemed a lot more 'selective and secretive' than in todays climate. I remember a mate and I were out with our air rifles over a local 'tip' shooting rats and things. Then we saw a guy in his 40's, squat down with his kegs around his ankles......................................at first we thought he was having a dump..............but then he pulled out a magazine and proceeded to have a 'handshandy' and the dirty ******* even had a can of coke...................until we shot the tin away. We never did see him over there again. Nowadays the same bloke would probably have had a young kid with him!!!
  13. 1961, born and still here in Brighton. I remember as a kid at the bottom of Wilson Ave. and the gas works (still there but unused), there was a little road called Rifle Butt Road and it had a little bakers..................always stopped off there for a bag of doughnuts before heading down to the swimming pool in the summer hols. now, full of slack-jaws and druggies, nonces etc. but it's good to be a firearms holder
  14. The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, But the oil companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase. See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 1.50 a litre. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T PURCHASE ANY petrol FROM the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... ... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 90p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and BUY your petrol at Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Jet, etc. BOYCOTT ESSO and BP
  15. It's a falicy that they will keep them away! If wild, then they would 'if' hungry enough begin to take out what ever raptors are in the area but in captivity they wont. You would need to keep it free in the garden all the time which in itself would be wrong as it would soon get bored and go after someones cat or small dog or even your pigeons as it would think you've left a running buffet for it!!!!
