Hi folks, bagged myself a dozen woodies in the space of 2 hours and a lovely cock pheasant! Missed, and spooked around 6 or 7 other birds.. Loads of activity in my area. Some of the large flocks have broke into pairs ere, so sport is getting better. Co. Down.

Believe so, Neck break? or pellet through head? Going with a mate, so he should be able to show me! Defo going to try the 2p at multiple range thing! my grouping is good and consistent at 30 yards, but it seems a great way to know how to adjust yourself for longer shorter shots.!! -

Thanks folks. Yes Going to zero her to 35m as suggested, plenty of low ridges on the land and I have an idea of range between fence posts. It's a .22.. All help well received! I'll keep you informed, going to take a race up tonight and see what happens! -

Right guys, well basically, not blowing my own trumpet i'm not a half bad shot, sight is zeroed to 40m and I can hit the underside of one of those small coke cans at 40m, and a 2p at 30ish.m. The rabbits are about at sunrise and night, I want to know how to stalk them, where to hit them and how to find others! Any help would be great -
Big into there berries atm!

Gamebore 24g Steel- filthy fire! Help!
Browning_Bai replied to Browning_Bai's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Thanks guys, I think the issue lies with the cold storage! To be honest the only reason steel was used was because I was making room for new carts..! still did the deed when called upon! -
Very same happened to me pal. The berries are the ones you find on ivy. A lot of the pigeons in my area roost in trees with thick ivy, and the lack of hawthorn sends them to eat them!

which cartridge for pigeons
Browning_Bai replied to swaggerrich's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Although a cheap cartridge, Danarms 32g No.6 works a charm with 1/3 choke at around 30yards.. -
Hi folks, I was out yesterday for a bit of rough shooting and I decided to work of 24g steel. after having a few goes at the odd crow I returned to clays. The cartridges wern't particulary liked by the gun, with one ejecting jam.. (Highly unusual for a brand new Maxus!) The jam was followed by a small fireball several shots later that came out of the breech! Rather scarey at the time! The cartridges left a horrible mess, with what appeared to be small goldish squares lining the trigger mech and inner workings?! After two boxes I simply had to stop.. Anybody experience this?

Semi Auto users- whats your cleaning routine ?
Browning_Bai replied to Salop Matt's topic in Guns & Equipment
I have a Browning maxus in mossy oak; Cleaning can be tedious, but I find the right oils and a bit of elbow grease does the trick. I like to use napier HQ oil on the rails/spring and to clean out around the ejector/breech. I use a compound oil similar, but better, than wd40, (forgot the darn name!) for the barrel, gas components and other metal; it brings them up like new! A toothbruch around the tricky bits never goes amis... HOWEVER, I DO NOT touch the camo paint job with eitjer oils as I've heard that some may corrode it, a bit of liught detergent on a dry cloth does the job, or baby wipes.. -
Agreed, winter flocks feeding on late cut stubble in Co.Down....
