I also raise money for various charities in several costumes I have put together, from various films.
  1. I brought the Hornady hollow 20g last time as the shop didnt have the 17's hollow that we normally use, was only about 50 feet per second less and a slightly big whack due to the weight. Not had any issues with accuracy yet, seems a nice round to me Think I paid £13 for 50, defo not as cheap as £10, thats a good price
  2. Im not sold on them personally from what ive read, 17 as a caliber and in a hmr format is more than capable of small game upto say 150 yrds or more. Why is there a need to shoot further with this small caliber, any further and I want to up caliber and weight to say a 22-250 or larger. 17 is also badly effected by the wind 5mph + so longer shots with the hornet will reduce the accuracy, for me I cant see the point, but I could be proved wrong.
  3. Hi mate welcome to PW Im not too far from you Im in Bradwell
  4. HI guys Ive had a Anshutz 1517 17 hmr on order for about 2 months, it is a 14" barrel version, now they still cant give me a date for delivery so was thinking of buyinf from anouther vendor who has the 18" barrel version in stock ready to go. Does any one have any ideas what the pros and cons are on both, as Im thinking about going for the 18" just to get on here. Just wondered what accuracy and power differences would be between them, or what would you go for if you had the choice? Cheers
  5. I had the robocop version fully automatic, fun but not much use for anything, soon got bored of it
  6. Just brought a walnut thumbhole Anshutz 1517 17hmr just waiting for it to arrive in the country, Im hopefully buying a Browning T bolt 22 lr when I pick up the 17.
  7. Ben is now at Milbro sports Mildenhall
  8. Mmm where did you find that info, the only thing in upgrades I can find is- Theoben Rapid Service & Tune £ 99 Theoben Rapid 12ft lb Regulator Conversion £255 Theoben Rapid FAC Regulator Conversion £305 Theoben .22 barrel only for 12ft lb/FAC £115 I did get an email back earier and they quoted me £99 for a 27-29lb upgrade so thats inline with the theoben site i suppose
  9. Just looked at the ben taylor site, I found him earlier through the milbro site, their prices seem to be alot higher but worth a call also to see what they offer.
  10. I dount very much id ever use a sub 12lb air gun, if I had a FAC to be honest. I'm more into my live rounds and shotgun, but have a few bits of ground they will only clear for FAC air so really need one in the cabinet for these jobs when they pop up. That being said it all comes down to converstion costs I guess.
  11. Yeah I did think that, but Ive had this gun for quite a few years, and its in as new condition and really wanted to keep it, Theoben were only talking less than £100 to convert it so its no big deal. But wanted to go a little more than 24lb on the 16" barrel. Just noticed Milbro website, but their conversion prices seem to be a lot more money. I wonder if there is any other options
