  1. Yea thats the one Cant think why he wouldnt tell me about a cheaper alternative to the guns he was pushing
  2. Just thought I would add that I went up to have a look at the Bernardelli and Im glad I did as I was very impressed. 90% sure Im going to make him an offer for it this week. Im not sure if I should trust this guy or not. Firstly he kept bringing up more expensive guns and almost ignored my questions about the bernardelli. He also told me that a new Webley&Scott semi autos start at "roughly 1100 euro" I have seen them advertised from £400.And he finished by telling me that baikal dont make a semi auto. Im sure I read about a baikal semi auto at one stage So is this guy poorly informed or am I ?
  3. I was supposed to be going to look at a second hand Beretta on Saturday morning but got a phone call from the shop to tell me it had been sold. I asked the man did they have anythign else that would be worth having a look at and he told me they had a new brand of shotgun in called Bernardelli. I had never heard of them, a quick google produced their web site (all in Italian ) but not much else. Im finding it hard to get much info on them. So has anyone shot one, owned one or know any thing about them? Cheers
  4. They are becoming more popular. I think they are perfect for irish rough shooting and after a few seasons so will you
  5. Theres only 1 thing to do and thats take him out with you, tell your missus to get over it. He could be doin a lot worse things than being out in the field with his dad.
  6. Loving these vids deeks remind me of the early days with my own GWP. Be carefull chasing pheasants at this time of year, last thing you want is your dog flushing a hen thats rearing a brood. Wont make you very popular with other club members, It happend me 2 years ago and I wasnt even after pheasants. You plan on working that young springer with your pointer?
  7. Good work Could be a good idea to bring along some K9 support to find the victims.
  8. I think I may have stumbled on a good deal but im not sure . I was in a local field sports shop (it's really a fishing shop that sells cartridges and has a few shotguns on display) picking up some cartridges and I happend to ask the boy working there If they had any semi-autos for sale as I had been after a new gun for rough shooting. He replied yes and disappeared into a back room and then emerged with a nice beretta AL391 Urika, second hand but in excellent condition. He told me the person hes selling it for only put 200 or 300 shells through it before deciding to get rid and was looking 1000 euros for it. It comes with the original case and a complete sett of chokes. This gun is like new! I told him I could be interested and to hold on to it untill I contacted him. Is this a deal not to be missed? What price would I pay for the gun if it was new out of the box? (1000 euros ir roughly £800, I think) Thanks
  9. I only know one place where magpies come to roost and you are lucky if you get 2 or 3 and then its not worth bothering with for at least 2 weeks Good shooting anyway MB
  10. Dazza I think I asked you before but what is that camo semi? Is it a beretta? Nice guns
  11. If there is no real great difference in terms of killing power would the .177 not be a better choice as it is easy to shoot with its flat trajectory? Dont know much about air rifles but have been reading up on them
  12. The GWP in my opinion the best rough shooting breed out there
  13. :good: What is it with this ******* fox hes everywhere I go!!!
  14. When I first started reading this post I could see it ending in tears specially between the English and Irish but glad to see everyone taking it for what it is a bit of craic. P.S called the fighting Irish for a reason
  15. John in the Irish Roughshooting book by Douglas Butler he talks a bit about mink and he seems to think the majority of mink in Ireland were released from farms along the borer when they turned out to be alot more difficult to look after than the farmers had thought.
