how many pellets did you put through and how many ran over I am no expert but for example one pellet from 50 over 12 may point to iffy pellet rather than rifle Having said that from what i have read springers do bed in and power can creep up erring for safety i would de tune

will follow this with interest same position as OP (no garden centre though ) there are several on guntrader uk within my budget even a couple of prosports but i keep reading that a well tuned hw97 is as good

two most accurate and consistent in my rifles were RWS superdomes and JSB exact in 0,22. i couldnt believe the difference even at very short ranges when testing so when i found a good one i kept it even if it costs a few pennies more

good luck with any refurb Meteors good starter for learning about taking them apart and how to fix them just mind the spring the wifr still wants to know where the rest of the broom handle is
