  1. Thanks Lancer. That's useful to know. Always something new to learn.
  2. Cheers scully, I think the fun element is often overlooked. I spent a day with friends in Cyprus years ago with an unlimited amount of waste oranges a fishing catapult and a 7 +1 spas semi auto. Most excellent. Got through a heap of cartridges. I can't use clays over my permission so will probably try it with apples to get my eye in before embarrassing myself at the clay range. Supernovas seem to be around £675 less whatever I get for my sxp so not ruinous. I like the bang. safe. element of a pump action. It's probably wrong but my favorite target with a 308 is a 12p tin of Italian tomatoes @125 yards when hit with a 155g sp they cease to exist and after picking up the remainder of can you can't really see the mess. Unlike tins of spaghetti!
  3. I assume you are ultrastu formally on bsaog.?  Any idea what happened there?  I guessed it was that RT was too busy to keep doing most of the contribution and running of the site. But assumption and all that!  Thanks for your answers.

  4. I don't expect to get involved with water fowling. And there is an element of wants are usually more fun than needs. Would be a shame to have a slot and not use it. It's like xmas. Needs don't count as presents. It's wants that make you smile. My wants will hopefully also do my needs.! So I will probably take a punt on a supernova 26 in camo unless there is anything wrong with them. Thanks for your answers and views. I don't quite understand why they can't be used for waterfowl (I'm not disagreeing) is it a general license thing? I will have a good read in the pump club section. Thanks again.
  5. I thought on an open ticket with conditions for clays, pest control and practical i could use it anywhere I have permission? But I have been wrong about many things! There is an element of having one just because I can, and you can't really lose much on a £700 gun. Also there is the warranty. If you have a failure of a s/h gun you lose everything or have to pass on a pup which I would not. Much the same arguments against fac air, but mine whilst occasionally playing up and me having learned to service most of it has been night and day more effective than my sub 12.
  6. Sorry for the usual questions! I have a slot for a s1 and plan to fill it soon. I have a winchester sxp (non fac) which despite a couple of lessons on clays I cannot get on with. I think this is due to having a long neck and not being able to adjust/shim the drop. It will be for rooks in tall trees (steep sloped beach forests) pigeons on crops, squirrels. Some clay sessions possibly a go at practical (won't have time to do it regularly) general walk about pest control and also a bit of fun! My favourites at the moment are a benelli supernova with a 26 or 28 inch barrel or a stoeger semi m3500 if I can get one in uk. The stoeger m3k looks good but is only 24 inch barrel. I'm drawn towards the pump for safety and the semi for the speed. Barrel length I'm unsure about but thought longer is better for high birds. I'm 6' with long arms and long neck. Probably most drawn to the supernova. All advice or gentle abuse (I like camo guns) would be appreciated. High tree stuff is the priority. I think adjustable stock/shims are also a definite. Can't afford the berretta I want! Thanks in advance.
