  1. Yes that will learn them ! ! I doubt they will make that mistake again. I had to throw one out when he didn't put his cup of tea down on the doily .
  2. My M3 helped me realize how I naturally shoot and that I was moving the gun too much chasing the clay this and the lessons and reviews of the lessons improved my shooting so I'm happy. Selling my mk 3 at the moment and will probably get a mk 4 on the father's Day sale a good toy . People are happy to pay 6k and lots more for two tubes nailed to a bit of wood that shoots no better than a 2k bit of wood with two tubes nailed on . Oh but but the engraving and the wood . Kills nothing. Camera sees lead and speed the same every time

    MIGRANTS

    Diversity is our strength
  4. Leatherman wave absolutely will deal with barbed wire .when appropriate I'm never without it . Obviously I know it's not EDC .
  5. Exactly the bit that broke on mine . Luckily Still under warranty. Pretty easy to source and change. However I part XD it for a franchi affinity. Much happier and 7 year warranty.
  6. I have done a reasonable amount of rat shooting usually with fac air. I have found range judgement particularly at night difficult so I started shooting them long ways either through the chest face on or a texas heart shot generally aiming for the spine left to right seems easier to get spot on its a little non intuitive but works well for me. Same with pigions, between the shoulders or up the chuff if you want to nail them. It all depends how they present themselves hades pellets seem good.
  7. I was in the smoke last week, regent st was rammed with morons. Got a taxi pronto!
  8. My most successful aim points seem to be from behind smack between the shoulders. If from below straight up the ringading. Side shots low neck but towards the back. 22 fac. I have noticed jsb hades seem extra effective if very slightly less accurate.
  9. I get my shotgun out every day and practice my mount and tracking with both eyes open, which is good for the clays If I ever get on them again . Twenty from the right twenty from the left, gun is a lot heavier when you Finnish than it was when you started. Everything else is buffed polished and organised to the limit.
  10. Thanks, hope to get a few more rounds of clays in when the current situation settles the see if I can hit a pigeon with it.
  11. My Franchi affinity is excellent and has a 7 year warranty. It fits me as it comes with shims to adjust the stock. 500 rounds in and it hasn't missed a beat. Easy to clean and I can hit stuff with it. Good value. Holds 9+1 with 67 mm I only put max 7 in.
  12. I have been practicing my mount 2 x 20 mount sessions 10 from left 10 from right every day more if the insomnia is playing up! imagining the clay and tracking it along the ceiling line with the gun and sigt out of focus it is beginning to becoming instinctive another lesson on Friday quite exited if I can shoot as well as the last one I will be estatic. However I suspect my weaknesses will addressed. I.will continue with the drills as I have toned up little which is a bonus. Hull superfast 28 and improved cylinder. Seems to work so no changes. The improvement from useless to reasonable is very satisfying. Have clear pigeon 32x6 for when I go out for the real ones. Lots more to learn.
  13. Robden. My experience /revelation exactly, my scores doubled. Confidence leads to confidence. Thanks to mark Hill at barbury shooting. Half price lessons till end of march. ive had two and plan one more. Then I think I can practice on clays with a friend and improve. Gun fit changed everything, not custom just fair to good.
  14. Scully, I understand the sight picture is personal thing. However I don't understand the doesn't apply to live quarry bit. Could you explain? I'm genuinely interested as I'm only learning to shoot clays in the hopes of applying it to pigeon shooting later this year. Last season with a gun that didn't fit and coming from a rifle background I had 'barn door issues' on clays and pigeons. Gun now fits and I can hit clays acceptably. Any tips about pigeons would be appreciated.
  15. My sxp was exactly that just unscrew it. However having had some clay lessons which have improved my shooting from appalling to reasonable the main thing I have learned is both eyes open and look at the target (in fact it's tip) ignore the gun and shoot. The sight has now become an irrelevance. Bit like driving a car or bike through a narrow gap. If you look where you want to go 👍 if you look at what you don't want to hit, crunch. It's been a revelation for me.
  16. Well, after asking the what fac shotgun questions and settling on a Franchi affinity 9+1 ish. Dropped the stock and went clay shooting with a mate. Frankly embarrassing :-(. During Feb and March barbury shooting are offering half price lessons so I took advantage of this. I fitted a neoprene cheek riser and set of under expert guidance from Mark hall. With a few instructions mainly don't look at the gun both eyes open I was hitting more clays than not. Very happy. I couldn't hit a barn door with my winchester sxp as it didn't fit me. The affinity does. Very happy. Gun was flawless I was unaware of recoil and hit stuff!! Will try to get two more lessons in and buy some more of their well priced hull superfast which seemed to work with me and IC choke. A very good morning thanks to barbury shooting and a good gun that fits supplied by the good people at Wiltshire rod and gun who fixed (under warranty no questions) My sxp and part exchanged it for the affinity with extended mag tube fitted. Excellent. Thanks
  17. Very happy with my Franchi affinity with extended mag tube. Dropped the stock with the supplied shims and can now hit things. Winchester sxp didn't fit and fell apart. Warranty on Franchi is a lot better. Very good price for a new gun compared to its benelli 'parents' very smooth to shoot. Easy to strip and clean. So far so good. Only 250 cartridges through it so far. Fit wise I'm long and slim with a lollipop neck!
  18. Usually driven. Off the wing mirror. Not really, I beat and get given more than I can eat. Fortunately I'm more keeper than poacher now.
  19. Cz 452 silhouette Ely subs. Mice to moose. Silently. Allegedly. Cheap to buy and feed ludicrously accurate within sensible ranges. Easy to shoot highly. underrated. Probably the best pheasant gun of all time. 👼
  20. Appreciate all the input folks. Snap caps were just to get used to its operations. It patterns quite well just a little high. That make sense thanks foggy. Having a swing on clays on Thursday. Hopefully. Every time I pull the trigger I stop. What's the score with dry firing semi autos? same as CF?
  21. Thanks for the reply foggy I'll have a play around on the farm. I must get some 12 g snap caps as I doubt it would be wise to practice in the house with live ones! Wcpgw
  22. Hope to try it on clays this week. Unfortunately I have never transfered the ability to hit 'some' clays to anything like a respectable bang to bird ratio. I cant quite work out the function of the mag cut off switch/button. If Anybody who could enlighten me I would appreciate it. Thanks
  23. Santa really came good this year! was looking at pumps but saw this and after shiming the stock it fits like a glove. Some clay practice soon and hopefully a good go at the pigeons this year after my embarrassingly poor shooting last year. My first semi auto. Lots to learn as usual.
