  1. I am selling the above NV scope. This was purchased from Custom Hunting .co.uk February last year, and apart from mounting the scope on my S&W MP 1522, it has never left my house, and is in pristine condition. It comes complete with an IR torch and all fittings. I'm selling this as I already have two NV scopes and will eventually be going onto thermal shooting. This is a fantastic high quality bit of kit.

I paid £269:99 (receipt can be provided) and I'm selling for £210 including signed for postage.

  2. I always apply self cling camo' tape in my moderators. It's easy to remove and doesn't leave any residue. Great for stopping light reflection too. I buy mine from Ali Express which is far cheaper that UK prices.

Cheers for that Steve but I can switch this type off and on remotely, and I hate throwing things out that can be repaired tks

I understand. I was tempted to buy the decoy for my new Icotec Helion.

  4. I have some more of the above lure. This is a very successful and proven lure and has produced excellent results. It can be sprayed on grass etc or poured on rags and sealed in an airtight container, removing the lid at your chosen spot. It 'stinks' and a little goes a long way.

Price £14:00 per bottle including 2nd class/signed for postage. 2 bottles can be purchased for £25 if sent to the same UK mainland or N. Ireland address. Payment by bank transfer.

Hello, good idea Steve, Still on Ebay for £6, you can normally get it cheaper if you put it on Watching ??

Yes, they work well. I bought mine at least 2 years ago and paid around £4:70 if I remember correctly. Putting the circuit board into waterproof box worked well, and also reduced the size as well. I attached mine to the flapper/rotary motor. I'm waiting the the FF6 that I ordered a few days ago which will do away with the need for a timer/speed controller, but I'll still use my 'basic' flapper as an extra.

I've just found out that the exact same one is £4:42 via Ali Express. Just type 12v LED light adjusting control.

  6. Not so much for using on a flapper for pigeons, but ideal for corvids, who 'prefer' a slower wing beat. A few years ago, I bought a few of these via Ebay (# 386850184735) and connected them between the flapper and battery. They work well and can slow the speed down to your liking. They can also be used on a rota. The slight downside is that they draw a bit of extra power from the battery, but I use a 12v/10Amp hr one, which lasts for hours. As an experiment, I removed the internal circuit board and fitted it into a waterproof plastic case (excuse the poor quality, but it works)

Not as good as a remote controlled one, but a hell of a lot cheaper.

I stick with the Fusion (battery vibrating version) and use a Razor pit - I shave every day and the razor pit extends the life of the blade head to months and months. Indeed the razor pit is a shaving game changer.

I agree with regard to the razor pit. I bought one thinking it was a bit of a gimmick, but in all fairness, it actually works.

Better to have the sections slide into each other than rely on hinges. I've got 2 made of 25mm x3mm Steel box with a piece welded that one slides into.

I will post pic of mine later.

I had one where the sections slotted into each other, but found it awkward and sometimes difficult to do this on my own.

  9. Well, I went and bought the razor, and I was impressed with it. The only thing I would say is that I wish the blade would be a bit smaller, but a very clean smooth to be fair. I usually use Gillette Mk3 and have always hated paying the extortionate price for their blades.

My dog is not a working dog, although she is very energetic and has plenty of exercise. We are going to try her on roughly the same amount of food, and maybe, cut back a bit owing to it containing more protein etc.

    UPDATE:

We've just tried our dog on the Dr Johns kibble and she wolfed it down. Hopefully, she will continue to enjoy it, although to be fair, she has never been a fussy eater.

Hello, Have you checked out the Night Hawk Flapper Steve ?

Yes, but advised not to bother as they are not good quality. This came from a retailer who was selling them and had many complaints from his customers who bought one. I personally can't speak for them though.

The flapper I have at the moment has an intermittent timer on it. It flaps 14 times and then stops for approx' 6 seconds. It's used on Corvids - mainly Jackdaws, and has proved to be deadly. I can also fit a 'dimmer' designed for 12v lighting and this allows me to slow down the flapping speed. The slight downside is that it draws power off the battery, but I use a 12v 10Amp hr battery which lasts many hours.

  14. Does anyone own the above flapper, and if so, what's your option on it? I've got a basic flapper which I use for Corvids but would like another one to place elsewhere in the field. It would be used 99% of the time for Corvids as there's not many pigeons about in my area. But I like the idea of a remote/timer etc. It's priced at £190 inc postage, or I could just buy another basic, but good flapper from A1 Decoys, priced at under £90.
