  1. Another Miroku fan here.

    A browning, but cheaper basically.

Mine's an old 7000 sporter, don't know if the barrels are chromed, but they are gleaming and perfect even after 21 years in service!

Pick a gun that fits, that has been looked after, and if possible get one of the "big 3" (Browning, Beretta, Miroku)! All the advice given to me recently when purchasing my first gun!

  2. Thanks for the advice guys.

The gun is an o/u, but my manager doesn't like the idea of guns being on site at work (even parts of!).

At the end of the day, as people have already said, if someone really wants to steal something, they will regardless of what security measures (that gun shop robbery in wellingborough recently springs to mind!) It's just trying to make it as difficult for them as possible.

I'm also thinking that one of these cable lock things might show good "responsibility" should I get stopped by the police and have the car searched?!

  3. I'm in a position where I quite often go shooting in the morning before driving straight to work for an evening shift.

I therefore think it would've wise to get a cable lock or something similar for securing my shotgun in the boot of my car.

I have now a few questions that I am hoping some people could help me with:

    1. Is there a particular brand/design cable lock that PW members can reccomend?

    2. Stupid question probably, but I guess you can only secure the cable through the trigger guard, yes?

    3. Do you have o fix the cable lock to your car via a welded bracket or something?

  4. Welcome to PW!

As a newbie myself, I found out that there are parts of the for sale section/wanted that remain "hidden" from new forum members for the first few months. This may well be why you can't see the sections quoted above (I can't see them yet either!!).

    Hope that helps.

  5. ...and many scientific theories that have been found to be utter nonsense.

This was my point. Yes, many scientific theories that were proven to be nonsense. And they admit it!

Various religions won't do that about their theories! They still want you to believe the nonsense!

I think at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to believe what they want. If you have 'faith' in religion then good for you! And the same to those that trust in science.

As for the Jehovah's witness as stated in the OP, well at least they're keeping busy, and not vandalising bus stops, setting fire to wheelie bins, etc

  6. My comment about the site being down again was because I am shopping around for my first insurance since acquiring my sgc.

I don't want it to come across that I am bickering, just that I think it's bad for sacs if they want more business, when a possible new customer can't even get on the website, let alone join and pay his fee?!
