  1. Semi auto? I'm pretty sure theyoperate on a inertia operating system "like" Benelli. Personally I'm not in to them as I had bad experiences with inertia systems and lost all confidence. However some lads swear by them! Hope this helps.

  2. Alright folks? I have seen a few threads on here about stock alterations, getting brass inlays, adjustable combs, recoil systems and but pads fitted. I thought I would help some of yous out and send you In the right direction...

I, like you was sceptical about letting anyone near my prized possetion gun... So he actually went out and bought a brand new gun to cut up and alter. You can see the inlays on his DT10 on the website and the graco he fitted to the gun he bought! He's unbelievable with a stock.

I used to shoot with this lad, he's a genuine character and I highly recommend him. He used to make cabinets for numerous world leaders... That alone is a testament to his work. Ps I'm no relation or advertiser, I just thought some of you might think its interesting...you decide.

    Cheers

  3. Welcome, welcome! I'm from south of the border too I'm afraid (VERY south). I've driven through Inverness countless times, but never actually stopped! is it nice?

Inverness is remote enough to be 5 mIns from countryside but civilised enough to have electricity and broadband... Nothing much else happened here haha. So in short, it could be worse...

  4. Hi mikky, my father bought me a 28" 686 Silver Pigeon Special for my tenth birthday, I used it for everything and actually LOVED it! I couldn't recommend a better gun. (I would however try pick up a slightly older gun in good condition as berettas newer stuff doesn't seem to have the same attention to detail or material quality). I shot this gun for about 12 years and I can tell you it's 100% defiantly not "only for beginners" I have shot against some of Scotland's top shots with it and have beaten them with £10k kreighoffs. If it feels right for you, DO IT! I now shoot with a 30" Beretta DT10 as I was wanting a little extra weight and length for clays, however the 686 will always be my choice field gun.

    Cheers

  5. Welcome! Not a Highlander but spend a lot of time up there. You have much of the white stuff yet?

Not to much at my bit yet however we did have frost on the ground until 10am this morning... So it's not far off. I have seen some photos of Cairngorm though and it's completely white at the top if your into skiing.

  6. That's Chanonry Point lighthouse you can see in the video, opposite Fort George. These Dolphins are here every year and as you say are awesome to see! Being a local we tend to forget the beauty of these beasts. Great to see up close though! Cheers

  7. You can call me a "snob" but I prefer my semi autos like my shoes and bed... Buy the best you can afford, as if your not using one you're using the other! I have done the cheap route thinking "this will do" then you get a jam the very instant you don't need one!!!

Beretta all the way for me!

  8. @bodach - the guy you are looking for is Welshman called Julian Coupland, he is a master carpenter operating out in Connon Bridge. I have seen some of his stock work and all I can say is he is incredible with wood. He's built cabinets for the queen so Im sure you can imagine the standard of his work. Below is his website -
