  1. Thanks Bruce! Unfortunately my local gun club is a bit exclusive and the only other one is further away and only really DTL with shotguns (rifles etc apart from that)... Asking my gunsmith is a great idea!
  2. Definitely get a lesson - in one lesson I learnt enough to go from a 30% kill rate to about 60% on sporting clays - and it's fun!
  3. I've just posted a similar post! This is quite a useful bit of feedback I received:
  4. Spot on - couldn't find them on the wildfowling Uk website - thanks Tom
  5. Thanks bigfish - gilchrist had some good advice. Unfortunately the local wildfowling club is in Dorset - I don't think they're too keen on it in the New Forest! Thanks though!
  6. It's a good 2 hour drive... I could ask him if he knows any farms further south towards me, yep. Thanks Luke
  7. OF COURSE I don't mean doing anything stupid or illegal! I was simply wondering about other ways of asking permission! Some good ideas - thanks guys! I'll start with updating my profile, then knock on a few doors (with no expectations of a positive outcome!), and then look into beating next season... Any other ideas, please let me know! Thanks
  8. Hi all, I've been shooting clays for years and spent some time on a friends farm (a long drive away) shooting pheasants, but out of season I'd like to shoot some pigeons. How do I go about starting? Is it just a case of knocking on local farmers' doors and asking if they would mind?! Or is there a more discreet way of going about it? Thanks! Tim
