  1. Cheers for the advise guys but the gunsmiths I've encountered locally have been quick fix merchants and I have come to the conclusion if you want the job done properly is to do it yourself I'm a mechanical engineer so not completely behind the door , once the action is out of the stock and sidelocks off the problem is right infront of you , my problem is locating the part ,I've emailed aya to see if they do a parts service ..
  2. Stripped the gun last night very simple in fact , problem is the main top lever shaft where it meshes with the bite bar at the underside of the action is worn where it rests against the body in the centre position if this makes sense , so will locate one of theses if I can , in reply to other questions there's no play in the main hinge and is tight on its face
  3. Get a size bigger than you are in meindl they are small fittings in my experience

  6. Yes gunman I took it to a gun smith my options were knock the bites on the barrel up £20 or strip the gun weld up the bite bar reshape for a better lantern option but was £150 so was going to do it myself ..
  7. Cheers figgy I've searched allover but can't find any bumf on the bit I need , sidelocks are easy to remove and clean just don't take em apart ..

  19. Any one own or know anything about these guns reason being I own a no2 at the moment and was in the market for a newer one and have been offered a 53, are they better or worse than the no2 ...
  20. If your barrells are brazed then normal bluing is ok , £80 was cheapest quote I had for my beretta , if you phone Manchester airguns they will give you the number of a guy called Collin who does this for a living ..on the other hand if there soldered together the price doubles as I found with my aya they had to be rust blacked using a different method , hope this helps nothing's ever straight forward..
  21. Don't do it mate it looks a mess and wears off quickly , cold blue is a no no imho , it costs about £80 from opposite Manchester airguns proper pot blueing it will look like new ..
  22. Theft is your main worry I had one for 12 months , couldn't or daren't park it anywhere scumbags tried numerous times to steel it spare wheel went , the cons way out weigh the pros not to mention the shocking drive and noise on motorway , I bought new navara and can't fault it all your muddy boots and tackle stays seperate to the front lovely on motorway what else can I say but don't ..
