  1. Has anyone had any issues with the above?

I leant mine up against a gate last night and they slipped and fell into long grass. The main body at the top split in two. They didn't even hit the ground hard because the grass broke the fall.

I'm a bit reluctant to get another set if they are that fragile, bumps are bound to happen in the field.

Does anyone know if spares are available?

  2. That sounds sensible, in my travels I have generally found the higher mileage cars are usually past the worst of problems. They tend to leak a little oil so don't be put off by that. I've not seen than many bone dry ones, there is always a weep somewhere

The slipped liners and cracking are costly but still very doable, it's only nuts and bolts!!!

I don't find them to be noisy at all, when it's on song who cares about tyre noise. I'm listening to the flat 6!!

We are getting roughly 3500-4000 from a rear set of michelins, the previous owner had put non n rated tyres on and they were hard and noisy. More than likely this is why people say these things, it's not a cheap car to run by any means

The engineering that goes into them is very clever, I have had the engine out twice, all the front off and a new roof and as of yet no stuck fasteners or broken ones for that matter. Now the defender that's a whole different ball game

I do like the red very much, black wheels to boot and it's got presence!!!!

  3. They all have problems, if you dig deep enough on tinternet you will find the problems!! It's all about want and budget!!

My boy hood dream is a 911, i know the downfalls but that's all part of the fun. I bought the missus a boxster to ease the pain when the 911 turns up. The howl of that flat 6 is just something, you have to hear it to understand!!

The other half had her sensible head on then I took her out in one, it was a very spirited drive!! Job done we have one sat on the drive, like I said its easing her into ownership!!!!!

Performance cars always come with problems, a 60k car can be bought for 10k or less but they still come with 60k car repair bills!! As long as you realise this it's plain sailing!!

  4. We have 4 English pointers and found the acme 212 was the one they would respond to at distance.

Someone told me once it's something to do with the length of ear canal? Not sure how true this is but all I know is we tried a few and found this to be best.

If we hear the same pitch whistle when we are out they take notice, no walkers or dog in sight but their ears respond!! It seems to travel well and the best thing is no matter how you blow the pitch is always the same
