  1. Indeed a great recommendation thanks buddy I shall have a little trip up there after Christmas
  2. Hi buddy I have never tried the Hatsan but was thinking of getting one but most Gunsmith's i spoke to will not rate them I found! Many people have given me the same advice as im going to give you and thats buy secondhand! Bsa R10's do come up at not a bad price, I recently managed to get a Daystate X2 in .177 for £280! Bargains do come up mate or for another 100 odd you could get what I hear is a good gun and thats the Wather R8.. But good luck with whatever you choose mate
  3. To be fair Hoggy I would still love to give the R8 a go as I have found out you can replace the plastic jobbie trigger for a metal affair which ive got to say is a major put off for me :( I think im going to wait for them to work the fields for a while and see what folks are saying about them after some time! Accuracy wise I bet your bang on there probably is not much difference in them both.. and I really was about to buy the R8 but when I offered £280 for the Daystate and the guy excepted, it was to good of deal to let slip Really wanted to get down the allotmens to have a proper test of the X2 but alas ive got to go Christmas shopping!
  4. Hello Mr mole Im in Harlow in Essex buddy and hey I really couldn't agree with you more.. I love side bolts too, so much more a natural position for the hand etc but seems like all the guns I like never have I side bolt :( That was one thing that was pointing me to he Rolex was nice smooth side bolt action..
  5. Firstly Evo im not speaking to you after your lovely lady has played Santa and bought you a dam fine toy for Christmas nah only pulling your leg.. you enjoy it buddy, bet you can't wait for that one on Christmas day To be fair mate your right I am open to anything these days and as said think im joining the Daystate camp more everyday! Its just considering this X2 is a 2006 gun and my Mk2 R10 is younger im blown away by how good it shoots, really is a gem the only one thing I could quibble about is the lack of a air gauge but that's about it! Really think im going to try and save up for the Air Ranger in the new year but my other half is not as understanding as yours Evo me old fruit

    Testing X2

Good evening guys Just thought I would pop on to say I have finally found time to have a little play with the Daystate X2 I recently bought although it was a quick few shots the length of the back garden it was enough to convince me that what you guys have said about these guns is all true!! Loaded up the gun with some jsb's I had laying around, stuck the cheap Simmons scope on that come with the rifle, took aim on the dot I made on some A4 card and walop. . Pellet slammed just half a centimetre high of the dot, thats without even zeroing in the rifle so thought well I will just settle for this to test accuracy! Five shots later and pretty much all in the same hole, convinced it would of been pellet on pellet but im a little rusty as I ain't shot for a good few months now! Thats enough to make me want to now spend some money on this beastie Treat it to a nice new Mamba lite 3x12x44 which can surely only improve this gun, then loose the synthetic stock and drop on a thumbholed walnut jobbie to make it pretty Trouble is its made my Bsa R10 look like it struggles to be as accurate and has left me wanting the Daystate Air Ranger even more now if this X2 is anything to go by and I will state that I really do love my R10 guys Its a funny thing with the daystates.. I never really liked them! I don't know why but now having shot one ive changed my options but I do have to say im not a fan of the hole electronic and digital display side as I like my guns to be mechanical.. All seems to take away the mechanics to me and correct me if im wrong guys but I don't think the air ranger is treated with all them gizmos? Can't wait to spend some time down the allotments giving this gun a challenge
  7. You lucky devil you ive got my hart set on a air ranger in .177 but dont think santa will come through :( Enjoy your gift buddy and buy the misses something nice back
  8. Hi guys Well after speaking with Daystates main man Tony the other day he has informed me that the MK5 Silencer that Bruno on here so kindly and generously sent to me will not fit my Daystate X2 so im gutted as it would of looked the business :( might have to stick that on my future air ranger when and if ever I get one! Anyways so back to the here and now.. Tony said what I need is one of their general carbon silencers bug not.leaving to near a gun shop this could prove a big of a pain to get hold of and the stupid rule of the gun shops not allowed to post them makes this even harder! So don't suppose anyone has got one for sale have they?
  9. Hi biffo Thanks for your reply mate.. yep 100% right I spoke to main main tony at daystate today and he told me pretty much that mate he said I need what they call a general silencer to just screw on the end but mail order is going to be a pain! So looking for a secondhand one anyone got one or know of one going to fit the daystate X2? Cheers guys..
  10. I know what you mean Bruno, I thought it would fit too mate :( Its a X2 Sport R so is the shorter barrel one if this makes a difference? I unscrewed the thread protector on the barrel went to screw the silencer on and the silencer opening is too small and won't go over the grippy part of the thread on the barrel :( Any ideas folks? Thanks..
  11. Well imGutted Bruno22rf I tried fitting the silencer you so kindly sent me to the daystate X2 but it does not fit over the barrel :( I removed the screw on end tip to expose the threded end but no joy so think I will have to buy one but I do plan on getting a air ranger so hopefully it will fit this! Any ideas guys what one I could get to fit the Daystate X2? Cheers guys
  12. Hey bruno22rf Received the Daystate silencer today mate, just what I was looking for.. can't thank you enough for that buddy it will really finish of the look of the Daystate once the walnut stock is bolted on Your a star.. big thumbs up
  13. Bruno22rf you are a true gent mate, can't thank you enough as a silencer was on my tick box and hey if you do want something im happy to pop in a little something on paypal buddy.. There aint many folk like you about These days the carbon fibre look will also really tie in well with the thumbhole walnut stock I will be fitting in the new year! If I can find out how to put pictures up here I will do before and after shots By the way I would be interested too hear about the faster, better delivery service
  14. Brono22rf pardon my ignorance but what is airstream mod? I will have a look on google mate thanks for the offer I might well be intrested mate
  15. Bloody heck You lucky lucky chap.. now mine don't seem like a bargin! Especially as ive got to rip that orrible synthetic stock off and wrap in walnut oh well thats life..
  16. Thanks buddy Your dedicated mate to travel that far..
  17. Ok well just a little update guys.. i decided to go for the regulated .177 synthetic stock Daystate X2 with simmons 3-9x44 Scope, 10 shot magazine, single shot tray and fill adapter and transferred £280 into the fellas account, seems like a good deal too me from what you guys have said but im not to up on my Daystates!! Anyways if all turns out well I will be fitting her up with a custom thumbhole chunk of walnut and giving some TLC treatment If I can find out how to post pictures up I will do some before and after pictures folks
  18. Thats too bad shaggy :( Yeah I think ive made the right choice to be honest, as I said not one person has come back with a negative comment yet so thats good. . Shame it has that nasty black synthetic stock but I will wrap her in a nice custom chunk of walnut if I find its good as everyone is telling me. Only trouble now is getting it posted to me!!
  19. You lovely people looks like parcel force 48 it is then! So how do I contact and organise it with them chaps? You really are a helpful bunch you
  20. You guys have convinced me it really does sound like the right gun for my needs, I would like to do afew tweeks here and there and maybe get a custom stock also its a regulated beast so all the better shame is though its that orrible black stock they fitted some with which to me does drive down the price! Thats why im thinking a nice walnut custom stock from custom stocks to get her looking as nature intended! My plan was to use the gun as a work horse for my night vision but from what you chaps say she is a beauty
  21. Cheers guys well got to say I have not heared a bad point yet about the gun everybody seems to love them which speaks volumes to me chaps!!
  22. Good evening guys.. ive got a question. . Again I hear you ask Here it is does anyone know who will deliver a air rifle for me? a courier or something! I phoned Royal mail today to ask them and the guy on the phone was less then helpful and sounded like I was I serial killer when I asked about air gun postage and could not wait to get me off the phone Regards foggy..
  23. So a little bit good then this one is the shorter barrell one.. dont know if that makes a difference chaps? Know it might seem silly but i always think a old rifle has seen lots of use and might be wearing silly i know!
  24. Ok right well a friend of a guy i work with at work is selling one for £280 bug i was thinking of.getting the new Walther rotex r8 so not sure what to go for folks
  25. Cheers mate i guess all Daystates are good rifles.. anyone else got a opinion on them chaps?
