I once rolled a car, a vauxhall viva, when i knew it was going over i put my hand out the window and gripped the ridge on the roof, it bent my fingers a bit but also left 3 dents in the roof from my fingers. Now that did tickle lol

    Whats a Vauxhall Viva?

  2. On a similar digit related subject, Today I spent 5 hours mirror polishing a blade, it really put up a fight, got it to milky but really struggled to get it up to a full mirror finish, so Started again, and spent more time between grits. The problem I have now is I can't unlock my phone. It doesn't recognise my finger print, which is inconvenient to say the least.

My fingers are red raw, when I washed off the black.

Anyway thought you might find that interesting.

Just out of asking is Muriatic acid just concrete cleaner?

  3. Well ouch is an understatement. During a momentary lack of concentration today while forging a medieval knife and fork my thumb somehow came between my 3 pound hammer and the anvil. Needless to say there was lots of swearing 🤬 and more swearing followed by some more swearing. The pain was excruciating, why I beleived shoving my thumb into my armpit was in anyway going to help. It wasn't long before my thumb developed a heart beat. Went indoors to show the wife my substantial injury. She had a rummage in the cupboard and plugged in this gadget which I didn't like the look of. Especially when the tip began to glow orange. She put it on my thumb nail and pressed then removed it and the blood must have shot 6 inches in the air. She said I might need an X-ray as its now twice the size of my other thumb. Well after the blood had been released I had a temporary spell of Ahhhhhhhh! before the excruciating pain started again. How can so much agonising pain come from a thumb. Its agony, can't concentrate. Its just pain pain pain.

Me best mate decided I was in need of some first aid, which wasn't much help.

Hope this eases up quickly got to get the knife and fork done by the weekend. But my damaged digit is making holding the tongs a bit painful.

  4. Top Job! Haven't made a stick for a while now. Might do one in Buffalo. Antler looks good but when there is brass involved the polishing really drags out as the black dirt that comes off the brass gets everywhere on the antler and its a job and half to get rid of afterward, Especially gets into what looks like micro cracks in the antler itself. really ruins the finish. Acetone comes in handy gets rid of some of it but when you have that antler shining white and then you hit the brass and its game over.

Yes I would - to deny yourself such a culinary delight is sacrilege, next you will be admitting to never put the elixir on cheese and onion crisps.

Its made of mainly 2 year old anchovies and year old garlic. Plus a few secret erbs and spices, But 2 year old anchovies, bad enough straight out of the tin.

Why would I ruin Tayto cheese and onion crisps The top shelf of cheese and onion crisps nothing comes even close by splattering them with Worcestershire sauce?

I f you haven't tried Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps then get some B&M's do them in bags of 6 once you have you will realise that tarnishing them with "the elixir" is sacrilege.

Can you not just copy and paste into the pictures folder?

No there is no option to do that. Lots of other options like move to, compress and email, compress to zip. But not to pictures.

  7. I am muddling my way through building my website. Its been so far bloody complicated but its getting there. But I have just spent an hour trying to get some material I did on Word uploaded to the website builder. But so far its not having any of it. I have emailed the files to myself in the hope that the computer will automatically put them in the pictures file, which is what the website builder looks in.

Getting the right hump now so before I open the gun cabinet and empty both barrels into my uncooperative computer does anyone know how to get the 4 files I want from documents into the pictures folder? It says Move to. but no mention of pictures. I am most perturbed!!!

My early morning walk rewarded me with this sight and the sound of at least three cock Grey partridges churring to maintain their territories.

Would you mind if I nicked this? My daughter is a pretty good artist. And likes to do landscapes and sunsets and sunrises. I think that would be an ideal candidate for her easel.

Not one single mention of putting worcester sauce on the cheese just before final grilling 🙄, Heathens.

If you knew how Worcester sauce was made then I doubt you would want it. Vile stuff.🤢

looking at the original post , and reading between the lines , his bosses were probably glad of a reason to get rid of him . just by watching the short video , you can see that he was an idiot .

i work with lots of agency guys , most are decent hard working guys , that would love a permanent job , but , some of them are long term unemployed , that have been forced off the dole . the decent guys hang around for a long time , and sometimes get permanent jobs(well deserved too ) , but the dead heads dont usually hang around for too long.

I reckon he was pretty much on his way out anyway. Probably the excuse his bosses where looking for and he gave it to them.

  11. Worked for a few agencies myself never again I'd rather be on the dole or whatever its called now. Most of them just want you on thier books as it looks good but very rarely call you for work. One that I won't mention the name of did give me plenty of work they say its long term work and you get all exited. work 3 weeks then they tell you the company don't need you. A week later they ring again telling you to go back there simply because if you work 4 weeks uninterupted by law they have to pay you holiday pay.

Its a right mixed bag this thread ain't it?

What credibility do you think you had?:w00t:

None now after confessing to being ginger and liking mild cheese and while we are at it I'm not shy about sporting a pair of crocs teamed with white socks

I love cheese on toast! As Nadia says, ‘there’s only one thing better than cheeses, and that’s baked cheese!’
As for the ginger bit....you have my deepest sympathy. 👍

Love cheese on toast but I have to say and I'm probably going to lose some credibility here but the cheese has to be mild, cannot stand strong cheese especially on toast. Even medium cheese will be rejected.

And before anybody comes up with comparisons I do not like Richmond sausages!! like to make that perfectly clear.

Probably loves, CHEESE ON TOAST that's why he got finished and he's ginger ........

Nothing wrong with Cheese on toast mate Its the Welsh National Dish and I'm Ginger.

  15. Before you take a chainsaw to it, check there is no TPO on it. Not sure if Fir trees are covered but its worth a check.

Bloke a couple of doors from me when we lived in Chafford Hundred lobbed one down and he got in all sorts of strife with quite a few different groups, council, Forestry commission. Got quite a substantial fine.

  16. Reading a story on The Suns's online pages. A binman has apparently been sacked for going all Bruce Lee on a snowman. He kicked its head off. And lost his job. Now in my opinion that is just a tad over the top reaction from his employers, Like he said it was going to melt anyway.

A warning would have been adequate unless he was drinking at last chance saloon with them anyway.

when i first tested positive , i got the text telling me to isolate for ten days , i also had three or four texts on the first day , telling me to download the test and trace app , i also had a call explaining that i should download the app , and that i would be breaking the law if i left the house in the next ten days , and that id need to notify anyone that id been around(id already done it). over the following nine days , i had at least one text per day , and one call , on most of the days i had two calls , and on a couple of the days , i had three calls . i can only assume that this was because i didnt download the app , i did try but i wasnt techy enough , and when lin tried to put it on my phone , my phone didnt have enough memory . in contrast , lin was able to put the app on her phone , she received a call and text on the first day , and on the last day . i can only assume that people that dont download the app , also dont isolate , and thats why they mithered so much . as anyone that followed this thread will know , i couldnt move farther than the toilet and the bed.

the positive result that ive had today , didnt come from the nhs , it came from a trial that lin and myself have been taking part in , its a trial by oxford/ office of national statistics , and came via nhs (ive also done another home test as part of a trial , it came via the nhs , but i cant remember who else was involved ) ive also been asked to donate white blood cells , but im guessing that everyone does ? .  myself and lin did the test yesterday , and i got a phone call today saying that i was still positive (they already knew that we had  both been  positive , and had had covid  , as we have to fill in a long questionnaire each time), the lady asked me a few questions , and told me that i need to isolate for another ten days , due to still having , fever , headache , nausea , the runs , runny nose , sneezing , or longer if symptoms carry on , she said that still having a cough was to be expected , and wasnt an issue . she also said that i should expect a text from the nhs ( i would guess the same text as last time , but it hasnt come yet so i dont know) , she also said that someone will visit the house to do a blood test , to check for antibodies. its odd that lin hasnt heard from them if i have .

Got the missus to read this and she seems to think things may have got crossed in the post so to speak. Test arrived before the questionnaire sort of thing. Ring the NHS covid hotline on 119, she says explain things to them and what you have done so far and they will get to the bottom of it.

The thing to remember is that you’re selling yourself. If your product is good and you are good at producing it, and it’s popular, and you yourself are good craic and enjoy having the craic, then just talk to your audience like they’re your mates. It has to be entertaining.
Have a good think of what you look for in a good video, and especially which things make you turn off or skip to the end.
Music in general but especially loud rock music does it for me; like the type you typically find in American programmes. No amount of music will save a bad film or product.
Don’t be afraid of making mistakes and letting people know you made them; as long as your videos don’t consist of bumbling along from one mistake to another.

I cannot stand the music available for You Tube video's there are many sites that offer the music free. You can't use copyrighted material at all. Not even a snip. Its a shame because most of the music you can use is so bad. They all seem to have been sung by Pinky and Perky. The others the singer makes full use of Autotune.

Getting aspiring bands to send thier music to you to use in your video's is a good idea. Colin Furze does it all the time but he is pretty much a You Tube celebrity. I doubt many bands just starting out would send me thier music, as my subscriber count is...........lets not go there!!!!

Just watched the latest DIRESTA upload on You Tube the second part to his truck referb. And the music was dire!!! Sounded African tribal or something but I thought straight away this music does not go with the video at all, And just turned the volume down.
