  1. This is still for sale but I'm away until the 11th April so I won't be able to reply immediately.
  2. Couldn't agree more. Might see a recovery of the Watervole population as well as preventing any more bird losses. Prefer the .22LR as it causes less disturbance on the Ponds.
  3. Considered using traps but I can't check them everyday. I've been going down there with the .22LR on the off chance there will be another on the bank.
  4. Yes, nasty little ****. Did you use a raft trap?
  5. Apologies for the late replies. Fixed choke. And yes would RFD.
  6. Shot this last month after finding a Teal on the pond which had been partly eaten by something. Baited with a Pigeon and true to form the following day the Pigeon had gone and this was in the exact spot where the Pigeon had been. Haven't seen any since but no doubt they'll be back as they must be breeding about now.
  7. Found a couple of old posts on the subject but they're a bit inconclusive regarding any advantages. The Bisley Scope Maximiser claims to offer 15 minutes longer "in the field" at dusk and dawn, but I wondered if they reduce target acquisition time?
  8. Does anyone use one? Do they improve parallax error or just make your rifle look overdressed?
  9. My wife refused to drive mine when I had one because the turning circle was so big. If I remember rightly the bottom pulley was rubber dampened and used to become "unbonded" causing what sounded like a belt squeal when cold. Don't know what the Auto box is like though.
  10. I like the aggressive pattern of the Insa and I was almost certainly going to order a set. But after a chat with the owner of the tyre fitters I regularly use I was put off. He wasn't trying to sell me an alternative and he didn't specifically single these out but I wondered if he'd had a bad experience with remoulds in the past and it was now company policy to refuse to fit remoulds. There has always been the old urban myths about remoulds shedding their tread, but I would think technology and modern safety standards have moved on enough to prevent this nowadays. However, the fact this guy is in the trade and obviously knows his onions was the clincher.
  11. Fenton..!? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GRSbr0EYYU
  12. I looked into ordering these online and having my local tyre supplier fitting them. They refused to fit them as they're remoulds. In the end I went for BFG MT's again.
  13. Hello all. I thought it only polite to introduce myself before I start posting. Although I'm new to this site I'm not new to Fieldsports and I'm a keen driven Game Shooter, Fly Fisher, occasional Pigeon Shooter, Vermin Controller and very occasionally do a bit of Duck Flighting. I decided to join PW after lurking for a while and what I've seen so far has been generally positive. I don't profess to know it all but I'd be happy to offer the benefit of my experiences to anyone. Those on here who grew up watching Jack Hargreaves presenting "Out of Town" is probably as old as I am, has never watched a complete episode of "Countryfile" and prefers "Songs of Praise". Regards to you all. "Harry Skinters"....(any ex-matelots will understand).
